Re: Gas to Diesel conversion
Did any one else meet and talk to Malcom Phillips at Homecoming? He is the head guy at Performance Diesel in Texas and they are the folks who marinize MAN engines for Sea Ray. This isn't a back yard operation but a very professional engine company with a long term relationship with Sea Ray.......if you read the article, you will see that Sea Ray marketing provided some of the text. Malcom was at Sea Ray the week of Homecoming for the dealer meetings and hung around for part of Friday. A very interesting fellow that kind of reminds me of Rob Parmentier: he is so active, mobile and on the go that he most likely wears his clothes out on the inside first. They had the Durmax in the 270 running prior to Homecoming; Malcom obviously wants it to be adopted as an option, and says the boat is an "efficient screamer"; Sea Ray hasn't decided .....so diesel guys stay tuned.

Re: Gas to Diesel conversion
That is really interesting and I would describe myself as obsessed with owning a diesel powered boat someday. The base engine for the 270 is a 5.7 MPI that I am guessing would deliver in the neighborhood of 2mpg. Can you offer any prognostications about what that figure might be with a diesel?
