Saginaw Bay Perch 10-21-12
I feel kinda guilty as I have not posted a fishing report in quite some time. Well, part of that is the fact that I have not fished at all in the past 2 months.
Anyway, I got out with a bud on Sunday afternoon for some perch on the Bay. Ended up with 60 slab perch for about 5 hours of fun in the sun recreational time!
It was just fantastic! The perch in the Bay are just phenomenal this year. Only a few small "throwbacks". Most fish are solid 8-12 inchers.
Minnow rigs on the bottom in 18 fow along the shipping channel just past the island was the best. The water in the river is very dirty with the runoff we have had lately, so we did not try there.

Did not pull the Sea Ray out for this trip, however, she will be coming out in the near future for more of these tasty morsels.Last edited by Getaway; 10-23-2012 at 02:25 PM.

I was down by Hooters just checking things out on the 9th and I was suprised how choppy the river was, Never noticed it quite that rough before. I only see it once a month or so though. Nice loooking perch BTW.

Fresh perch are soo goood!!!
MM"Bail-outs??? Back in 1990, the Government seized the Mustang Ranch brothel in Nevada for tax evasion and, as required by law, tried to run it. They failed and it closed. Now we are trusting the economy of our country and our banking system to the same nit-wits who couldn’t make money running a whore house and selling whiskey!”

That dang top photo is sideways....hmmm.
I've seen the Saginaw river with 3ft waves in areas where a hard north wind can blow right down the channel. She can get pretty darn nasty at times.
