NBOA hurricane warning
Just got an Email from NBOA insurance about protecting my boat if the hurricane hits, if the boats on the hard, and shrinkwrapped what else can I do? except pray? What does everyone else do in this situation? Last time my 320 was still in the water all I did was adjust the dock lines and added fenders.

Re: NBOA hurricane warning
I am still in the water because there still good boating days at the coast of NC. Believe it or not my boat is safer in the water than on land. The marina is set up to handle the storm surge and has a relief valve that it will flood the roads before the floating docks come off there peers. We took a direct hit last year with Irene and no speakable damage -except the windshield In your case I would maybe put a few more blocks under the boat and tie things down. Were not out of the woods here yet either but on Monday it looked like another direct hit -I was hoping this storm would just go out to sea-
Good Luck

I'm coming out sat morning I won't b shrink wrapped by the time it comes if it comes. What should I use to cover it? Mooring cover? What else can I do to help prevent damage or should I let the storm take its tole so I can get my bigger boat ? :-)

Re: NBOA hurricane warning
If it tracks our way remove the canvas all together. Get some sheet plastic, cover and tape the dash and hatches. Let the yard handle the rest and god forbid the insurance company. Good luck! I think I'm coming out Saturday if I can get her winterized tomorrow then I will be doing the same.

Re: NBOA hurricane warning
Last time I used the mooring cover and did the same as Russ suggested, the mooring cover never moved since it has a low profile I did cover the dash with plastic under the cover and sealed the companionway door opening just in case. Good luck guys stay safe

Re: NBOA hurricane warning
I'm out and shrink wrapped on the hard... almost wish I was still floating. My marina was built by the Army Corp of Engineers and is rated for a hit from a Cat 2 hurricane. My yard where the boat is stored is surrounded by very tall trees... I don't think they're rated for Cat 2! Although we shouldn't have anything worse than tropical storm winds and probably less than that. Stay safe everyone. Get your generators ready... and not your marine generators!
