    Spot/Search Light repair question

I have a 1988 390 EC with, I believe, a Larson Spotlight. The light would not move vertically, and today when I pulled the lens out, I could see the plastic gear that moves the light up and down had some broken teeth. Thus, here is my problem, the motor is running fine.

I could not see how to remove this piece to replace. I can't believe you would have to spend hundreds, if not over a 1,000.00, to replace the light.

Does anyone out there have any experience with a similar repair of a spotlight?

    Re: Spot/Search Light repair question

I don't know about your light specifically, but my boat had a 5" Jabsco search/spot light that I had to replace. New was like $400, but I found a used one in great shape on Ebay for $80.

You may want to try that option...there seem to be a lot of defferent types listed there.

If it is the round stainless light w/remote, there is a thread here somewhere that will show all the parts and where to get them.
