Guys sorry , catching up on the posts to see how everyone is doing. I have been in contact with Alex, he's fine johnathan you all know how he is an Ron his marinas destroyed but his boats ok and he has no power at home.
Thanks to all of you for your thoughts ,
Shaun, no more info on my boat but my old dock neighbor who lives near the marina says his 320 and prob most of the boats are destroyed or sunk . So I'm not expecting to find her sitting happily on her blocks when I finally get down there. As you may know I work for NYC so I've been here for two days , more importantly my family are safe. And the house Is fine. I have gotten attached to "Mirage" over this first season and I hope she's ok . Thanks Russ for your kind words. There's plenty of other guys out here doing what has to be done. I'll follow the thread when I can be safe guys.

These pictures are truly unbelievable. Our world continues to change around us at a frightening pace. On the other side, I'm glad everyone is ok. Boats can be replace, lives cannot.
Keeping our fingers crossed for everyone...

Re: Weather Updates East Coast??
Joe - sorry to hear about "Mirage".
Marshall - "One Sweet Day" is spending the night in Wytheville, VA tonight - the driver called this evening. They expect to be in Chattanooga by 1400 tomorrow. I still don't have any word of what Good Luck Cove Marina looks like in Toms River, but I'm convinced she wouldn't have made it if the driver had not made an extraordinary effort to go out of his way and get her off of the blocks and on the trailer last Friday. She spent 5 days between the Delaware Bridge and Havre de Grace due to the road closures and Sandy, so I'll find out how water tight her hatches and fittings are when we splash her tomorrow!

Re: Weather Updates East Coast??
It does seem totally random. My boat is fine, but 100 yards away... not so good. I've been driving all over today from CT to Long Island and there's so much damage it's just amazing. I've seen 20 boats in someones front yard, trees splitting a house in half, so many downed power lines... It's going to take a long long time to rebuild the NE. Amazed and grateful that more people didn't lose their lives.

Re: Weather Updates East Coast??
I want to echo those comments. The destruction is amazing and to think that the loss of life was kept to a minimum is fortunate. I saw the NJ shoreline homes and I was amazed at the total destruction of whole neighborhoods. I imagine that all areas that can will send help to get things back up and going. Good luck to all affected by this storm. I imagine that those that tried to downplay this storm and say how the media was building it up are eating crow tonight!

Re: Weather Updates East Coast??
As I read though this I can really understand how some of you feel right now. I know everyone always says the boats and be replaced, lives cannot. Very true statement, but it would not make me feel any better if it were my boat. Having visited many of the areas in the past that were in the direct path of this thing I can only image how much damage a storm like this would cause.
We took a glancing blow down here in Maryland, but being on the opposite side of the storm when it hit land saved us from the bigger storm surge. I was waked up at 4 am but the sounds of the marina crew moving boats on the hard deck to another area further back as the tide came in. My boat was in the water and safe but I went over to the marina to make sure. We only had one boat fall of the stands here, and some had some minor canvas damage, but nothing like you guys north of us got. Still without power, but that is a minor inconvenience compared to others. Best of luck to everyone up north!Bill @ Sandy's Beach Adventures Website:http://sandysbeachadventures.webs.com/

Power has been out down here Chuck, so this morning is the first I have gotten online since the storm. Your boat is fine, no damage at all. We did have a very high tide, I stayed in the water, which was a good move. One boat here fell off the stands, other than that some minor canvas damage on a few.
