    Window Channel Rubber Replacement

Hello, I need to replace the window channel rubber. Where can I get the replacement channel rubber seal? Thanks, and I have a 1987 340 Express.

Taylor made. You will get a way better product than the original. I called them and they knew exactly what kind and how many feet to send me. I cleaned-up under the old rubber, rebeded all the screws, and the new stuff snapped in very easily. Simple job and looks so much nicer

You wouldnt have a sample or pic of that would you?
I called Taylor for my 1980 dancer but they didnt have records that far back. My boat does have a tayolr windshield. They have profiles on the website but nothing matched.

They call it "flocking" and they will know what you want when you describe it to them. It should be an "H" shaped piece of 'fuzzzy' rubber tracking. I did mine a year or so ago, and they knew what I wanted and told me how much I'd need and how to install it. Its actually very easy to tuck the new stuff in the window track once the old, brittle stuff is out. Mine was so hard it was like a beer pretzel and I had to break out sections with a screwdriver. New material is soft and supple and goes in with fingers and a small scewdriver. A little WD-40 to lube the track helps.
Feel free to ask any questions I'll be happy to answer if I can.
BTW be prepared for sticker shock, its NOT cheap but is an exact fit.

Mine was not fuzzy Scorpio, it is smooth plastic and looks great. My boat is about 10 years newer tho, so could be it takes a different product. Freygreer...maybe you got a person who was not as well versed on the older boats as the person who helped Scorpio

    Re: Window Channel Rubber Replacement

The fuzz is only barely noticable, like what used to be on older car window tracking. I think you may be right, they may have changed the material on later boats. The OP and I have similar vintage boats and I'd bet money that his window material is the same as whats on mine.
Give Taylor a call and tell them you thing its "flocking" and see what they say.

So what you guys are talking about is the sliding window rubber? I was looking for the rubber on the outside of the windshield.

    Re: Window Channel Rubber Replacement

I am talking about the rubber on the outside of the bottom of the windshield, that covers the screws that hold down the windshield

    Re: Window Channel Rubber Replacement

I will try and get a pic posted. I am talking about the black rubber that is on the outside of the windows and not in the window track. It covers the channel where I assume is for running wires etc. thanks.

Thats called "screw cover" and it comes in a few different widths. Get a profile of it and measure width and call Taylor, I replaced all mine with new from them. Its cheaper than flocking.
