I am in the process of changing out my old Norcold DE-051 to a new DE-0751 fridge. When I removed the fridge, I noticed Sea Ray had installed what appears to be a capacitor in line with the 12V supply to the fridge. Unfortunately this is not shown on either the parts manual or the wiring diagrams. Any idea why this was installed and if it is still needed with the DE-751? Norcold said it was not ncessary with either fridge and now wondering why Sea Ray would have put it in and if it is in fact still nesessary for some reason.
