No.........the 410DA has never had a problem. You may hear of an isolated case somewhere, but it isn't a systemic or design issue....... the owner caused the problem by physical damage or adding transducers where they shouldn't go, etc.

Additionally, keep in mind that you hear all sorts of things offered by "experts" in a marina...............you can believe a very small percentage of it.

    Re: Hull problems

    Correct. There is a chance.

However, I just pounded mine through some 4-6 footers for 4 hours between Cape May and Atlantic City a few weeks back. The water is still on the outside of the hull.

    Re: Hull problems

Whoa........You guys changed the subject of the sentence didn't you?

When I said "you can believe a small percentage of it" I was referring to what the magazine reading experts down the dock tell you. I was not referencing a percentage of hull failures on the 410DA. The only 410's I've ever head of with structure problems are those where the deck core got wet for some reason. I have never heard of a 410Da anywhere with hull problems, other than one where the owner just had to have a hydraulic platform added to the boat and the installation was not done correctly.

For the OP's question, the 410 is an exceptional boat and any fears you may have about the hull or deck structure can easily be answered with a hull survey, which you will do on any boat you intend to own.

Not intentionally. My point was the chance of hull problems are statistically insignificant and about the same as the chance I would get selected as the President of Sea Ray.

    Re: Hull problems

The chances of problems are higher on anything pre 03. It is true that most problems are caused from owner error or neglect but I purchased a 97 400 8 years ago that had a manufacture's defect. There was an air pocket in the lay-up right where the straps lifted the boat, It cracked and wet the balsa. Most of us would have caught this at the next haul out but in this case it was not found until out of warranty and during my pre-purchase survey.
We negotiated price and I bought it and repaired the problem and it made a great boat.
In 03 SeaRay made some changes in their construction and coring and built a better boat.
