Re: suggestions on where to post reviews of poor marine service providers

In the home repairs we have done one supplier's very detail question air of their product. The dollar value was low compared to some items. The people who supplied me the product did a good job in most areas but could improve in others. I spent 20 minutes answering their questions and putting in what I felt could be better. The store manager wrote me a long email thanking me for my input. If one responds to the product or service question air or writes the supplier after the product is installed the suppliers will know what we want rater than guessing what we want. The cabinet people made some mistakes. One set was the wrong size. A quick fix would have been a spacer but it would not have looked the way we wanted. They replace cabinets. As before I had detail specifications and there was no question as to who made the error. Write down what you want and if you do not get it you have a case to get it corrected. If you say put in new radar and they mount things where you did not want them but you failed to provide details in writing and drawings it is not the dealers fault as the sales person is not the installer.
As one person once told me "If you do not ask you will never get but ask wisely"

I didnt see the same backlash there that I have seen now on 2 threads regarding this original thread posted by this OP.
I am on neither side but am a little perplexed. Sorry if I am too uninformed to comment here.

Yep, exactly. When you're offered a $1000 printer for free in exchange for a positive review, are you going to turn it down?

Here's my new office printer that I got for free in exchange for a positive review -- https://epson.com/For-Work/Printers/...r/p/C11CF49201

Sure, go ahead and judge me. But if I turn it down the next guy will say yes. Tell me that you would walk away from a free product worth $1000+ when all you need to do is spend 30 minutes posting reviews. My next deal is a new Windows laptop for free. This is exactly why none of the reviews you read are trustworthy.

Most people reading this aren't looking at me as unethical, they're asking how they can get in on the deal. Anyone interested can PM me and I will tell you how you can get in on it.

    Mike,
I just remembered the comment, not the auther, sorry. I also stated my dissatisfaction with "the good hands people"! I am not attacking anyone by any means, I am just trying to understand what was so offensive about this "original post" that has garnered so much negative reaction. I only used that insurance thread as an example of people sharing their vendor (in this case, insurance) experiences, pro & con. I guess I just came in too late here and am best just bowing back out.

In the original post the poster was sharing his bad 'service' experience with a specific SR dealer. He posted actual e-mail communications with identifying names and locations included.

If you need to post a review of bad service go on active captain, they have a place just for you to comment on service received, good or bad.I want to add ,please do so properly without anger so as to help other boaters and not bash what others may have had a positive experience with.

The main problem with your original post was that you really didn't convey what happened, just posted emails which contained personal information. I would think that a post that outlined your experience, history of the events and frustration without dropping into the cellar (i.e. targeting specific individuals) would probably not be met with too much resistance.

There is a fine line that can be walked in detailing one's customer service issues and seeking a solution, but to post with no other goal than trashing the facility and/or person you are ticked off at...well, CSR isn't the place for that.
Well that just muddies the water. As a moderator you are saying its not the content of the post just the way its delivered.
