    Thought I would give everyone an update.

    Took off the Airceps, took them home. removed the foam with wire wheel, scraper, and pick. This took a couple hours because wanted to make sure I got it all. I cleaned them up good with brake cleaner and then scuffed real good with scotchbrite and painted with Rustoleum high performance black enamel. I installed them yesterday and can't tell a difference at all in the sound or otherwise.

    If you have an older boat, I would suggest taking off the filter element and checking for this deteriorating foam, because it was definitely being ingested into the turbo.
