My boat is still a LEMON!!!!

My 330 DA is 2 years old and has been nothing but problems - cabin leaks, rotting cabin roof, battery charger, steering, generator X3, gas gauges, cabin trim falling off, stereo and I'm sure others I can't recall.
I recently took the boat in for yearly service and a battery issue. They haven't even addressed the battery issue yet but have found a bad coupler. I'm told it will be 13 hours of labor of which only 4 will be covered by my extended warranty. I hate to vent on a forum where so many Sea Ray lovers like to share their positive experiences but this is ridiculous. You'd think for a quarter of a million dollars you would get something that works, not something that bleeds you dry. If you have better luck with your boat please enjoy it.

I would reach out to Sea Ray corporate. I think you will find the assistance you want and deserve.

Good suggestion. Captain Rusty helped me out in the past with the cabin leak and rotted roof. I suppose I will wait to see what the battery issue is.
    Thanks

Re: My boat is still a LEMON!!!!

I had a plethora of problems with my 350 over the first couple of years. It was purchased with about 50 hours on it and had a survey. Most of the issues ended up being build defects. SeaRay stepped up and worked with my dealer to solve a major cabin leak that caused thousands of dollars in damage. Entire AC system had to be replaced by the dealer.

My skylights have been removed and resealed multiple times. Dealer had to remount both engines to solve an issue from the factory. They're on custom mounts the owner of the dealer personally made. I haven't had any issues since purchase.

The list of other issues goes on and on. Many have been rather minor. I.e.: the heating element in my grill has gone out twice. Kenyon has been awesome in sending out a replacement at not cost both times.

Make sure SR is aware. I have found they are responsive and will work with your dealer.

    I'm sorry for your troubles....

Your issues are rather random and don't sound related to each other....but, do sound like lack of proper service or some major trauma happened in this boats history... ?

In an effort to help you..
I'd recommend a new service person (or yard) to genuinely go through all the problems and thoughtfully diagnose to solve them.

Then, caring careful maintenance going forward is required.

    Maintenance is key.

Not so sure... how does a two year old boat suffer from this:

"cabin leaks, rotting cabin roof, battery charger, steering, generator X3, gas gauges, cabin trim falling off, stereo"

I'm hard pressed to find anything in that list that even 2 years of just flat out ignoring would cause a failure.

I hope to hell SR corporate steps up and helps you out. Sounds like a statistical anomaly/crap storm.

I have a question, how long have you owned this boat? Did you have a survey done before you said yes?

He bought it new in July 2014.
Personally I wouldn't expect to have to survey a brand new boat.

We have had similar issues with our 2014. Bad year? Some seem to think so.

The boat was purchased new, properly maintained by MarineMax, kept on a lift, always covered and meticulously cleaned. Not much more I could do from my end.
