    Re: CSR Northeast Flotilla 2017

We went to that beach a few years ago. There were definitely people on it, and I don't recall seeing signs that said we couldn't be out there. There's even a road "Oak Tree Ln" that goes out there.
On a side note, there's a channel marker on the peninsula of that beach. From afar, it looks like an average channel marker. But up close, it's actually 2 kegs welded together. Gotta love it.

    A Guide to Shelter Island:
    Beaches
Shelter Island is an island surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches on the East End.
    IMPORTANT NOTICE:
If you are planning on visiting one of Shelter Island's public beaches you will need to obtain a beach parking pass. The passes can be acquired by bringing your car registration or car rental agreement to the Town Clerks Office in Town Hall. You will need parking permits for Shell Beach, Wades Beach and Crescent Beach. The Town Clerks Office is open Monday through Friday from 9-4 and Saturdays 9am to 12 noon (during the summer). Call 631-749-1166 for more information. Island residents can obtain parking permits free of charge. Others pay as follows:
    • Weekly Permits (7 consecutive days) $25.00
    • Monthly Permits (31 consecutive days) $50.00
    • Seasonal Permits (June 15 through Labor Day) $100.00
Here is a list of Local Beaches on Shelter Island:
    Crescent Beach
Crescent Beach or Louis' Beach is located on the North west corner of Shelter Island. The beach is over half a mile long and is the islands most popular beach. The beach has a fantastic view of Southold and Greenport. The beach also is the home of several restaurants and hotels including The Pridwin, The Peconic Lodge, and the Sunset Beach Bar & Restaurant. This beach also offers a great view of the sunset. During the summer season there is a lifeguard on duty during the day.
    Shell Beach
Shell Beach is located on the south-west corner of the island in West Neck Harbor. The beach overlooks West Neck Harbor, Shelter Island Sound and the Peconics. This beach is half a mile long and located on a long peninsula with a dirt road. This beach is generally less populated than Crescent Beach & Wades Beach.
    Wades Beach
Wades Beach is also located inside West Neck Harbor across from Shell Beach. This beach is also very popular and has a lifeguard on duty during regular hours.
I called the clerk's office and they told me that there are no restrictions for boaters using the beach for doing a picnic.

So, who's ready for the feast on the beach?

I liked how your first drone had noodles attached to the legs. The water crash survival rate was so much better.

I don't think the noodles would have helped, it was a pretty spectacular nose dive......

Is everyone splashed by now? It's time for the thread to pick up the momentum.
