90's Sea Ray Emblem Replacement - Quite pleased with the result

Looks great. One small step at a time. I’m hoping I can get out of the engine room soon and do some of this “fun” stuff.

I like the script Sea Ray in chrome. Although, finding them might be hard, even the gold looks good in your photo.
Searayman 13 on ebay usually has all of the emblems / decals you may need. He is who I used when doing these updates to my old 410 a couple years ago.

Update:

Got the letters on today. I think they look fantastic. The only concern is whether or not they'll still look correctly leveled when in the water. I know I'm bow-high in storage but the words look "correct" compared to everything else, including the logo. Fingers crossed.

I also received a set of chrome Sea Ray script emblems this week. The gold definitely has to go but part of me wants the script to be black. Hmmm....

Please take a picture once in the water so I can get a better perspective. But I'm thinking I like what you did and may want to do the same. Anything to update the boat for something as easy as this is s no-brainer.

I like the chrome emblems a lot, but on the other hand, I leaning towards sticking with vinyl when I replace my Sundancer emblems so it will be easier to use my rotary when polishing.

I replaced the gold script with these, & removed the gold boot stripe along the waterline , really like those arch decals you did! Not sure why my pics are sideways..

It really came out well. Love it. I too want to see a shot of it after launch.

Heat gun (very gently, or wife’s hair dryer) and fishing line and most adhesive will come off first shot.

Looks great!!!

Full disclosure...the only reason I didn't use a hair dryer was because of the way I have my boat hooked up (shore power) right now in storage. With the battery charger running I assumed I might blow a breaker on the 15A circuit I'm plugged into if I ran a hair dryer. I really don't want to spend an hour trying to figure out where the breakers are :)

And I'm finished. All three gold emblems came off yesterday and got replaced with chrome. These buggers were actually more work than the big emblems on the arch. They had some kind of felt like crap between the adhesive and the plastic. Getting that stuff off after having a nice 22 years to setup was a real treat! Par for the course on boat projects, of course.

Now I need to figure out how to get the cooked-on fueling danger sticker near my flag pole mount...

I so remember how popular the gold emblems were in the early to mid 90's. The marine industry, as usual, was late to the party putting gold emblems on in the later 90's. This tends to make boats look more dated than they are. The color choices in marine world always felt like the peak popularity had passed when they started using them.

Do you guys remember how popular the hunter green and burgundy paint colors were?

Where did you get the lettering for the "Four Hundred"? That looks awesome!

I'll also be adding the words "FOUR HUNDRED" under the new emblems later this spring. I need the admiral to do that job as my idea of "straight" and "properly spaced" generally leaves a lot to be desired.
