The flip down tv in our 420 started making some clunking noises as it got close to being shut and after shutting. When we try to activate it to close, it seems like the motor to drive it up starts but doesnt engage the tv to close. After a few seconds it engages and goes up but then clunks at the end. Has anyone had a similar experience before? Does anyone know how the flip down tv activates itself - maybe like a pinion gear off a motor? Any ideas or thoughts on what might be wrong and how to access the drive mechanism? Thanks for your input.

I see there were no responses here but did you figure out how to access the motor for the flip down tv? I'm hoping the headliner doesn't have to come down,

Unfortunately, I did not. I pulled the trim off and can see the cylinder but no way to get my hands on it. It looked liked the cylinder was bad. Seems like a winter project.

I'm wrestling with this problem now; 2005 390DA. Mine will not drop down. I hear a clicking sound at the Slide Out Room Controller but no movement. Started to take things apart; here is where I am:

I assume it's a reversing motor. Are there any micro-switches that limit the movement? Is there a latch holding it up? If I apply power directly to the motor, should it drop down? Can I test the room controller?
TIA, hope someone has an answer.

After about 2 hours of effort, I got the ram out of the ceiling. No need to remove the headliner, just the wood trim. The bolts holding it are 2 different sizes and are allen wrench on one side and nut on the other.
Turns out my ram is ok, but the motor is fried. The Room Controller also seems to work, but I'm not sure it shuts down when the TV reaches the end of it's travel. Anyone have a spare motor or know where to find one? Here is a pic of the parts already taken apart. I'll keep posting till I get this thing back together and working right...
