How do you support your boat cover?
I keep my 1994 180BR on a lift, with a Sharkskin cover held on by webbing to the lift and bow/stern eyes.
For awhile, I used a "support system" pole topped with plastic triangle with webbing running off it, but got tired of untangling and wrestling with that.
Now I stack swimming tubes in the bow, and built a frame to stand the pole/plastic triangle between the seats (no straps). I then stand up a large towing tube in the back.
It's worked but kind of crazy, so seek alternatives.

One idea: buy (2) of these Vico support poles/vents, placing one in the open bow and other between the seats:

Anyone use these Vico poles -do they work well? Hard to stand up when installing the cover?
Better ideas?

Also: May replace the Sharkskin cover soon. Sunbrella still the best option? Boat is EC with 466hrs. I want to keep it that way!

Thanks for your time!

Yes I use a similar system. I have two covers. Both use a vent/pole in the bow and and one in the cockpit. I bought a set of the plastic screw together type vents from Amazon. I took them to my cover place to get them to install. They told me to send them back. They use a rubber sew in version. I had them installed. I liked them so much I had them do the second cover. Both covers are Sunbrella. I use one cover for storage during the season and the other for trailering and mooring when we are using the boat. Had them done 2-3 years ago and still holding up very well. They charged me $40 to install including the vent. Poles were included with the covers that I had.

Stingrayaxe, thanks for your reply-

A sewn-in rubber vent is probably far better, and $40 each sounds like a good deal.
If your cover/vents are accessible and you can find a a mfr/product # on the vents I'd appreciate that very much.

With inflation, I assume a quote for the same work (if I can get one locally) will far exceed $40 -but worth a try!
The Vico support pole/vent on Amazon is $33, and Vico vents sold separately are $12.

Surf, There are no markings on the vents. I've include a picture of the invoice. Give them a call. Good people. They may share their source with you since you are out of state. The support poles that I am using are from Carver. Around $25 each if I recall correctly.
