So I put my name down for a dinghy dock. It’s basically a seadoo dock but a bit wider. I got a new hard bottom dinghy last fall and thought not keeping it on the platform would be nice because I don’t always want to take it with me and it would be easier to cover, launch etc. The marina called today and said I have one and they want $700 for the summer. I swear I was told $500 when I put my name on the waiting list. I paid it but geez….. that’s a bit rowdy.
Am I just getting old and cheap or is this the going rate?

Does seem high, Blue. I pay $1000 for inside rack storage for the dinghy..for the whole year.

Jet ski docks were 600 and change last year at our marina…..probably will be 700 this year.
We don’t have dinghy docks, fortunate enough that our slips are large enough that there is room to tie it up behind the boat.

I had two slips like that where we kept it on a floating raft….. this marina I am in now doesn’t allow that…. I guess for good reason

There are advantages to being at a poorly run Marina sometimes. Ours in Benicia has a policy of charging $1.00 /foot/month for anything that is in the water in or around your slip. For as long as I was there, I never ran into anyone who was actually charged the fee. The good part is I kept my 12-foot dink dock adjacent my slip for free but there were multiple old and dilapidated half sunk inflatables, kayaks, tenders, you name it, just tied along and around the docks and really made the marina look like crap. If I made a stink, it would cost me $1500/year probably and they still would not enforce the policy and clean up the junk yard.

my marina only has jet ski ports. $675 if you don't have a slip. $475 with a slip.

See now I can get my head around that…. $700 is pushing it….. I’ll see how it goes

In my old marina about eight years ago, I was paying 650 to be allowed to put my dock tied to theirs. Seems like 700 isn't that bad.

My marina used to have spots at the end of the boathouse that you could attach your PWC floater for free. First come first serve and spots were limited and very desirable. Once Safe Harbor bought the marina they immediately started charging $600/yr if you had a slip and $1200 without. Immediate mass exodus and now spots are easily available. Not to mention it really pissed off the boathouse slip holders that a non-holder could have access to the entire dock for just having a jetski there.

Our marina charges either $650 or $700 for jet docks. There's a long waitlist and nobody wants to give them up once they get them.

I kept my dinghy on a seadoo floating dock with side extensions. It was right at 10’ wide which made it nice putting on the cover. It was in a small covered slip that cost me $114 a month because the dock stayed in year round.
Sold the dinghy now I put our seadoo on it during the summer. It’s just so much easier getting on the ski and covering it up.

Seems high, but you're in a fancy marina. My rack was $150 a year, but last year new owners took over and didnt charge me anything. Maybe they were too busy with acquisition to bother. will see what happens this year. I will tell you this, it is really REALLY nice having it on a dry dock where you can jump in and go. You will use it a lot more. The money will be worth the extra fun quotient.

Blue, our previous marina had jet ski floating docks and I believe they were $900 for the season.
I thought that cost was high but didn't really affect me, no jet ski. We only have the dinghy on the back of the boat.

Found this picture. You can see the floating dock if you look close.

That’s a cool spot….. Pete and Pam are a couple of characters… miss those two…. I tried to meet them up at NCYC this past summer but some how I screwed that up because I didn’t have weekend access.
Don’t believe anything they say about a rendezvous at NCYC….. I had the slowest dinghy and a few beers…..:):)…. Fun times in that covered slip

Yeah we love the spot. We’ve had some issues at the marina but those two are great people.
Plus the covered wells just super nice
