Back a week or so we had anti-virus going off all the time and Jim & Mark were checking things out and did an update. Since then I have had issues with spellcheck being non functional, the emoticons locking up CSR and IE reloads it, (whatever you put in is lost) and cannot embed video. Anyone experiencing these issues? MM

Wayne, help is appreciated browser wars are not. MM

I can't embed videos, and now the site is asking me if I want to leave the page after attempting to post anything. Kind of stupid huh? Of course I want to leave the page..I have to in order to post!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I'm running I.E., but I think this is a CSR thing, as none of the other sites I frequent have any of these issues.

I also am seeing the do you want to leave this page message when trying to post. MM

Ditto for me on the "Do you want to navigate away from this page" and no spell check

I don't get the "do want to leave" message, but I do have problems with the spell check where it puts the correction in the middle of words and emotions locking up the page.
IE9, Win7 x32

Why was my reply DELETED ??. You could of PM me as to why.

I might not be an expert on vBulletin but I am a retired MCSE Microsoft Certified Software Engineer after doing a little research there does seem to be some bugs with the latest release of vBulletin 4.1.4 to 4.1.7 which I think this site runs. Most of the problems have been related to plug-ins with IE and Firefox.

Ok, the "Leave this page" warning is something new that was added to the latest version of vBulletin. Currently, vBulletin does not offer the ability to turn it off, however I have removed the line of code that activates that popup and it should no longer appear on CSR. This "bug" or issue is currently in the vBulletin bug tracker and has been set to low priority and is marked unresolved. They are aware of it and supposedly will add a option to turn it off (instead of modifying the core code as I had to this time.

In regards to spell check. This is also de to the latest version of vbulletin, and the new editor that they have chosen to use. (Also, is only related to those using IE). Those that click the ABC icon should get a notice to visit iespell.com to download a spell check for IE (if they have never done this before). Also, once you have downloaded that spellchecker, the ABC icon still does not work for IE. The alternative way to spell check with this new editor is type what you want, then right click and select "Check Spelling", which will activate IESpellCheck.

I am not aware of emoticons locking up pages, but this may be related to the first issue with the navigate away from page warning. Please test things out now and report back here to let me know if they are resolved.

Thank you.

Thanks for the reply Mark, The ieSpell is still not working. I am going to reload and see if that makes a difference. The emoticons issue happens to a reply with quote, go to advanced, after I type text, and then click to add one of the emoticons. Have not seen the "leave this page" warning recently. MM

MM,
I haven't followed all the posts on spell check but if you are using IE 64bit you'll need to use the right mouse click option or run a 32bit version of IE for any vBulletin websites. Not sure if I'm duplicating something you already know.

Did not know that and am running 64 bit. Reloaded and it is working with right click. Thanks to all. MM
