AI has to go through a training process so it's effectiveness increases over time. My guess is whoever is spawning these bots is still training their model. The first phase is likely just learning how to interpret the context of wherever they are launched.

Use a Phillips screw-driver to "punch" out the interior knob (through that hole in your picture). Then you can leverage the screwdriver against the plastic rotating cam in a spiral motion, to turn the cam from the outside. Sorry. don't know how else to describe it.
Here's another fun tip. The hose you use to fill your tank should be food grade. If you use a rubber garden hose, your water will stink and taste bad for the next 3 fills. AMHIK
