Thanks to everyone who responded! Appreciate all the knowledge in this forum. I did have the water connected while running it. I'll try running it after pulling the shaft out to see if the rattle is still there.

I bought a 2000 Searay 340 as a fixer upper and its sitting on stands. The port side drive shaft wobbles and makes a rattling noise when I put it in forward gear or reverse gear. No noise in neutral. I've aligned the shaft but the result was the same. Im gonna include a video and hope someone...

OK Thank you both for the response. Then the 1000 watt motor sounds like the way to go. The old motor casing is very badly damaged from salt corrosion.

Im working on the vacuum generator for the toilet and found a plastic disk in the bottom of the tank. After pulling it out, now wondering where this came from since I can't seem to see anyplace in the vacuum gen/tank system it might have come from. Apologies for the gross pic. Anybody? Thanks Gary

ttmott - Sorry - I forgot to mention that there is a large grounding buss bar inside the engine room, on the bulkhead that ties all the components ground together.

Instead of adding a 5th battery, should I just separate the batteries that are in parallel on STBD side, and make one dedicated to the Generator and the other one just for the STBD starting system? I can then jus do 1 battery connection from the ProNautic Battery charger to the Port side...
