More on the code 25 water pressure switch

Not familiar with that. How does that work?

There are a couple of scanners which would help pin down the issue and confirm where the problem actually is. Mercrusier has a scanner and Rinda does as well. Both are pricey and better to borrow if you know someone who has one. The scanner would show you multiple sensors at once ........which when triggered you could screen save a copy of the readings....ie "freeze frame".

While it is possible that another sensor is being triggered.....the fact you can run all day below 3200 suggests that the voltage on the flow sensor is not what Vessel View is expecting to see.

What did your mechanic use to test the pressures on your system?

Doesn't your Vessel View display what psi the sensor is providing?

I have no idea what he used for test equipment.
The digital tach in the dash flashes the code and I also have a mercruiser vesselview addon on the dash.
They both agree on the pressures. My money is on the poorly manufactured mercruiser flow sensor.
There are other flow sensors that others have suggested, maybe that's the way to go. $165.00 for poorly manufactured parts is noy my cup of tea. (8M6000623)

I believe the consensus is to buy a cheap one and try it out. It would be interesting to see if it has different readings around 3200 rpm.

The 3200 wall makes no sense, I'd be looking for a fuel problem.

The nature of the beast with these ecm's is that multiple codes can be triggered simultaneously with only 1 issue causing it.

You might be correct on that.. fuel pump fades at that RPM..why a code 25 for raw water pressure?

I've been battling trying to get water out of my gas tank. Sunk during Ian. So as the motor was slowly dying out from the water it triggered a crank, cam and MAP code. Review of the freeze frame all those codes were set at 239 rpm. Nothing to do with anything relevant and low rpm triggered all that.

Put a fuel pressure tester on it and take it to 3200 and see what happens
 
If you're confident that there's enough water flowing to keep the engine internals and the exhaust cool, then you could always put a variable resistor in place of the water pressure sensor for testing. You might have to vary it as RPMs increase to keep the ECU happy, but it should supply an adequate signal to eliminate that code 25 and rule out (or confirm) that the sensor as what is causing the power loss.
 
Faulty WPS is not going shut motor down at 3200. It will reduce power 10% and alarm every minute to tell you there is an issue. Understand the capabilities of these sensors and the ecm's response
