Sea Doo Switch Compact as a dinghy?

@Shoyrtt Then check out this tow mechanism!

I ran across that company when I was searching for options. Here is a link to their website for the "dinghy and tender" set up: https://magicmarinetow.com/collections/all-products/products/copy-of-pwc
The couple of concerns I had were due to the weight of the Switch at over 1,700 pounds. Can the Magic Marine Tow handle it? And if so, will my Sea Ray struggle to get on plane?
I sent the guys at Magic Marine Tow an email. If their product and my boat can handle the weight, this would be the ticket!

I must say the folks over at Magic Marine Tow (MMT) have been very helpful. It turns out the owner of MMT is also looking at purchasing the Switch. He believes with their new carbon fiber pole the MMT will have no problem with the Switch's girth. The issue he thought of was clearance over the bow of the boat, but it should be ok with the bow door left open and the bimini top folded. He also cleared up the towing question I had with water entering the engine through the exhaust manifold with this response and picture:
"The solution to preventing water from entering the Exhaust Manifold is simple. I don’t recommend clamping the hose as, over time, it will weaken the walls of the hose. Sea-Doo, Yamaha and Kawasaki are reluctant to give this advice due to the possibility of the client forgetting to activate the stop valve and claiming that, on their recommendation, this caused damage to the engine. This method has been used for several years, and thousands of jet skis use this method."

This thing is a super cool idea and I've been looking at it for years. Just can't pull the trigger once it is in my cart and I see the total with tax and shipping. I almost bought one used for $1K last summer but I was a few minutes too late to the Facebook Marketplace ad.

That worked like a champ on my Kawasaki STX 1500, but I used a S/S valve (never had a problem with clamps on the hoses).

I saw the Sea Doo product at a boat show last year. It is kind of a cool idea, but seems a little quirky and cheap. The units I saw were really designed to be modular, almost like putting together legos or those modular docks you see. Since everything was plastic it was a little hard to evaluate durability.

I've owned Sea Doos for 30 years or so, so I'm loyal to the brand, but this just had a really funky feel to it.
