I have a couple of screws that are backing out on the trim near the helm that are backed up to where the door slides in front of it and I cannot get access to it is there any way to remove that door without making a big project of it so I can tighten a couple of screws that are holding the trim in

I'm not 100% sure which trim you're talking about. But the back of the helm is accessed through the trap door in the head compartment. And/or remove a gauge panel for access to some areas.

I don't think that big & heavy sliding door is coming out without taking the helm out. As @Lazy Daze said you'll need to open the small access panel in the area where the porta-poti is, behind the helm, and see if you can get access to the screws in the track while the door is closed.

There is a thin strip of metal that trims out the back of the helm and if you open to the door all the way and looked in that crack which is about an inch wide there's a couple Philips screws that are backing out that I cannot get to was just curious thank you

I'm having the same problem and as a result the weight of the door on the latch ruined the stainless steel Latch. I purchased a new one but don't want to replace it without fixing the lower track on the gangway where the screws have backed out.
The access panel in the head is too high and too small to access the track when the door is open.

Does anyone know if you have to remove the entire helm station? If so, where are the bolts and are they accessable?

My other idea, would be to but the access panel big enough to fix the track from the head without removing the helm station.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I don't want to remove helm station to tighten one or two screws. Maybe needle nose

That's not possibe Scott215 but thanks.

My door and track are fine just those two trim screws

That’s a great question in regards to cutting a larger panel. However, I’m wondering if that wall also provides some structural support for the windscreen? I’d love to have that panel be about 12” taller.

No my door glides nicely to be honest with you it's just there's a few little Phillips screws tiny Phillips screws that are backed out on the trim piece behind the helm right where the door opens all the way to the right I just wanted to try to get those screwed in but it's not a big deal I'm not going to rip my whole cabin apart just to get a couple screws in but my doors totally free it's opens closes I would like to get a new lock for it to be honest though

Scott, is there enough room to get to those screws by using a phillips bit in a ratcheting box end wrench? You can tape the bit into the wrench.

No maybe a half inch might just cut a screw tip and put in needle nose vise grips or weld it to a small piece of flat stock

Just a question from way out in left field, but can you just remove those screws and replace them with slightly larger screws? And if so, would you consider using lock tight? I know on motorcycles with high frequency vibration lock tight is our friend.

I don't know I have an uncovered it yet but walk tight would be a good idea it's just that little 3/4 in wide band of stainless that goes around the back of the helm on the right side of the door

I was able to fix the track by removing the helm station. This was the only way. I disconnected all guages, VHF, SIMRAD, steering, ignition and llight connections.
Then there are two large horizontal starboard screws inside the acesss panel. I removed those as well as four at your feet below the wheel and 3 screws in the ceiling by the bulkhead.
I then removed the windshield, cut away the Caulk and it came out. I then repaired bottom of gangway with fiberglass, double up the screws, re fastened the track and replace the lock set.
I put everything back and it like new. It was easier than I thought and well
