That safety bolt has a pin hole through the top of it so that a safety wire can go through it. There should also have been a dimple in the shaft that aligns with the safety bolt. The side bolts then clamp the shaft in place and the key stops rotational slippage, or is supposed to.
So those are...
So from that picture it looks like the rudder was sheared off. Hard to tell from that angle, but that's what it looks like to me. So you hit reverse and the prop and shaft took off and hit the rudder and sheared it. Never heard of that, this is a first.
It probably started with the wrong bolts...
Use Sikaflex UV 295 to re-bed the plexi to the frame and 3m 4200/5200 or some prefer Boatlife life-calk to seal to the frame to the boat. Make sure everything is as clean as it gets and let it cure a couple of days then re-install.
The result do not make any sense, unless there is an oil cooler on the engine. I have not seen this on generators of this age. But that doesn't explain the coolant pressure test failing. Something is a miss here, it still sounds like a head gasket to me if the pressure test was valid.
I had a...
If you measure the AC voltage at the charger and also between ground and neutral and it looks good, I would turn the charger off for an hour or so. Then turn back on and if it is still dead or a funky state, I would guess something electrical happened and the charger was affected by that.
I...
Nice catch on the bolt grade. Definitely needs to be grade 8 bolts for sure, grade 5 will stretch too much and is probably what happened here. Also, to your point, I have never seen a brass key used either, always SS.
The split shaft coupler is pretty common, but they usually have a SS pin...
So from that pic, the two bolts on each side should have been on so tight nothing could move them, the key is to ensure rotation with no slip. That lock bolt is supposed to go into the shaft to stop it from being able to slip out when in reverse. The safety wire should have gone around the shaft...
Oh man! You can't make this sh*t up. You have very bad luck it seems. I would go see a psychic and get some good ju ju going before you finish your trip. Oh man I feel for you.
Boating is not for the faint of heart as you know. That Sea Hunt would also limit you to only day boating and your current DA has way more amenities. But that's just me.
You won't regret going in that direction. Fusion has really done a great job in covering all of the bases with integration and the components they provide. With their signature series the DSP will sound great but, the Apollo series is what all of their development on the DSP is focused. Take a...
Well as @Golfman25 has mentioned. Nothing on "SignalOptionXO" or any variation comes up on the net. That in and of it self is strange as even scam accounts come up. That as it is typed or words separated do not come up.
How did you come to this, if I were to invest in this and want use this co...
Same for us, Holidays use to be at our house. 12-15 people on holidays. The wife and I cooking together and other family members helping out, hanging out. When we moved that all changed and now it's with some new friends, fire pits and drinks.
Happy Thanksgiving my friends!
Yes exactly. The panel should not care what the source is only that it gets 110v and supply's that to the various circuits. The rotary switches handle the 110v source and lifting the neutrals etc.
The separate white breaker for the AC is actually good, that breaker should be fed by one of the...
Weelll, I was trying to imply that, I guess that didn't come across about the neutrals. Sorry I didn't reread before I posted that, confusing, my bad. But to your point, absolutely both hot and neutrals go to the rotary switch(s) then to the panel. Keep in mind that the generator will also do...
The pics you posted of the breakers and switches do not make any sense. It seems as the neutral is being treated as a hot. So that could be a source of the reverse polarity through the AC unit, possibly. It is still unclear how the boat is actually wired because you also show the side panel...
I am guessing that second breaker is the main breaker that disconnect's both 30A incoming connections into the boat and is before the panel itself. With those in the off position I would think there is nothing that can be powered on. So the wiring of that breakers needs to be checked. It could...
