    Sedan Bridge Common Drain Plumbing

I'm sure removing those glued in bushings (end caps) will damage/destroy the Tee they are installed into.

    Sedan Bridge Common Drain Plumbing

I guess you are talking about the 1 inch line going into the top of the last tee? Putting a Y fitting there would be too small in pipe size and also share the discharge of the hose that's already there. Secondly, a fitting atop there raises the drain connection up which isn't the direction I'd...

    Sedan Bridge Common Drain Plumbing

That little hose looks to be the condensate drain for the refrigeration units - the Sub Zero ones on my boat had drains. They tied into a single line just under that deck and routed to the galley sump at the end of the tunnel. I looked at tying the sink into that end cap also but didn't want to...

    fire suppression update question

https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2021/10/22/2021-22578/fire-protection-for-recreational-vessels#sectno-reference-175.320 First of all if I had a large boat with substantial fuel capacity (especially gasoline) and the boat didn't have a fixed system - I'd install one as well as the...

    fire suppression update question

All commercial buildings require periodic inspections of the fire protection systems - those companies will also do portable and fixed marine systems - Cintas for example. Regardless, safety first - don't eliminate any fire protection or suppression system on a boat.

Lifeseal, Sikaflex or.... RUBRAIL TIME !!!

They didn't remove any of the joint structural screws on my 52 - just cleaned around them. I wouldn't mess with them at all (they were bolts not screws on my boat). On the bigger boats the inside of the joint is glassed but it's not perfect as getting into all of the areas would be next to...

Lifeseal, Sikaflex or.... RUBRAIL TIME !!!

They are called irrigation syringes. Maybe dental syringes. The nose was long and curved. I do know they filled the syringes from caulking tubes of the 5200.

    Sheen/Sooting from my 7.6BTD - troubleshooting advice?

Kevin - the generator appears to function normally at high loads right? Check the AC power frequency fully loaded to make sure it is really turning 1800 RPM (which is 60 hz). If for example the governor is holding the fuel rack full open because the RPM is less than 1800 then sooting and a...

Lifeseal, Sikaflex or.... RUBRAIL TIME !!!

I had all that done on my boat - Pull the rubrail off the boat. Remove the old caulking from the deck to hull joint. They mostly used a multi-tool with an offset abrasive blade to get in there and really scuff up the surfaces in the joint. They then cleaned with acetone on rags the entire...

    2024 Bahamas Trips for all

@ocgrant - Grant when are you heading over? I just finished the Click2Clear quagmire for a quick trip over May 2nd. West End then up through the Abaco. Fuel at West End is $5.20 incl VAT which is the cheapest in a long time. I was going to go into Walkers Cay but fuel is $7.45 there making...

Survey - what are the rules ?

OOPS I doubled what was already for both surveys. Fixed. But that brings up a good point - how many boats does a purchaser want to survey. Only one. So if like me I went on the boat three times before committing to an offer, getting a contract in place between myself, the broker, and owner...

Survey - what are the rules ?

Yacht purchase surveys consist of Hull and Engine which are separate surveys. Both surveys require an out of water inspection and sea trial. If a buyer settles for less then not only will they have difficulty on financing but also insurance plus all of the misses. I think I had around $4k in...

    58 Sedan Bridge Official Thread

I suspect the display will be in either Mpa or PSIG, even though we usually instrument turbocharger boost in Bar. So - One Bar is atmospheric pressure at sea level = 14.7 PSI Absolute (PSIA) 14.7 PSIA = 0 PSI Gauge (PSIG) One Bar is 0.1 Mega Pascals (Mpa) 0 PSIG or 14.7 PSIA = 0.1 Mpa But the...

    Sundancer Helm Chair Replacement

But for one important thing - the factory SR seats (except for the L series boat Stidd seats) are uncomfortable and crippling on a long journey - the only reason I changed mine.
