    303 Graphene Nano spray coating

I put a graphene coating on my boat this season, but not 303's. It was this: https://yachte.co/shop-yachte/boat-care-products/graphene-glow-amphibious-spray-coating/ So far, I'm very satisfied with the results. In fact, today, all I really needed to do was hose off the deck and sides to get...

    Boat Meals - Ideas

Is it the set that stacks together? If so, I have them, and I must say I am incredibly impressed with them. At home I have All-Clad pots and pans which cost a small fortune, but the Magmas are nearly as effective as those! Bon appetit!

    Boat Meals - Ideas

Any kind of seasoned Mexican meats (al pastor, chorizo, carne asada) carry well in a container that can be cooked or reheated on the stove, in an oven, and I guess worst case...a microwave. All you need are tortillas, salsas, lime, and of course...a nice mezcal. :) Pastas and a protein are...

Sunstream automatic boat cover installed - it is great

Even with a covered slip/canopy, I'd still want to put up the actual canvas to keep out rain, debris, etc. This kills two birds with one stone; also significantly lengthens the life of the boat's canvas.

Sunstream automatic boat cover installed - it is great

Having dealt with the canvas puzzle on that boat, a good "coachable moment" would be to install and remove it together. That $16k will feel like $2.00 real quick. :) Nice color choice.

Sunstream automatic boat cover installed - it is great

Very cool convenience that is probably well worth the cost. I had a 350CBR; the tonneau cover connection at the windshield would ALWAYS leak water, so this solves that problem, too. Enjoy the Formula; I miss mine from time to time.

    Another Fair Price Thread

I doubt there's ever been a transaction where the buyer thinks they could have paid a little less, and the seller thinks they could have sold for a little more. If you're comfortable with the number and a survey sings praises about the boat, it's meant to be. Whenever I've bought a boat, I've...

    Seven Marine Done

Here's your answer. If it could have 350 or even the 400hp outboards that didn't have to work so hard for a nice cruise speed, it'd be an amazing design. Or better yet, the CXO300 diesel outboards.

    Future of Sea Ray

Another idea here that might suggest the death of the "smaller" cabin cruiser: millennials (of which I'm a member :)). Most of us grew up with our own space, comfy beds, high-threadcount sheets...we don't really care much for packing into sleeping quarters like sardines (which is really the...

    Future of Sea Ray

500% agree with everything here. And to be fair, the fit/finish has been a steady decline for SR. I looked closely at a 2015 410 Sundancer a year ago. Lovely boat, but the engine room is a disaster. Cable spaghetti, unmarked hoses, no battery boxes--it didn't hold a candle to its competition...

    Seven Marine Done

I'd like to share my own decision that I had to recently make (early 2019) concerning quad outboards versus twin diesels. I had a Formula 350CBR, and it was an excellent boat, but I decided some proper sleeping space was necessary to facilitate longer (as in week+ long) trips. Formula made me...

What skills should I learn before I purchase My first boat?

While the logic of a "newer boat" and "fewer problems" might make sense at face value, in reality all boats break at some point. So I guess step #1: Once you find the boat you like that passes a survey, don't be discouraged if a problem pops up after a month of usage. We've all been there, and...

    45 Years ago today....

This is a great read; however, I believe it was the Arthur M. Anderson that had left with the Fitz, not Wilfred Sykes. And yes, Wilfred Sykes was laid up in Sturgeon Bay most of the summer (due to COVID/lack of material demand). She has her own Instagram account (@ss_wilfred_sykes) and it's...

Miami Boat Show Cancelled for 2021

I agree. The exhibitors will still want to sell product, show or not. I daresay I begrudgingly have attended a few shows to get the rebate form stamped for the extra $200 off; in most cases, I would have much rather received the same discount while sitting in my PJs at home on the laptop. :D

Miami Boat Show Cancelled for 2021

I just took a look at FLIBS' social media properties, and while there are two sides to every story, there seem to be a lot of folks disappointed with the show and its $55 ticket. Seems that there is undoubtedly a reduction in exhibitors, and from what I can gather, the more "affordable" boats...

Miami Boat Show Cancelled for 2021

Just because there's no physical boat show doesn't mean the electronics manufacturers can't/won't discount their products. Make sure you're signed up for their emails/follow their social media, I'm sure you'll see the usual rebate programs. (In fact, they could even be more generous now that...

Prestige 460 F type vs Galeon 460 Fly

The 48/50 is special. FWIW, it's one of my favorite SR designs ever.

Really? Sometimes I just shake my head!

Good craftsmanship happens regardless of one's native language. SR's QC practices are to blame here (probably white dudes speaking English, btw).

Toying With Making a Big Change

I had two solid seasons with the 350CBR, and then the desire to travel more around the Great Lakes became a reality. While the Formula was great for darting to harbors that were 80-100 miles away and having accommodations for 2 for a weekend, it wasn't ideal for 2-week trips (both the...

Toying With Making a Big Change

I had a 2017 Formula 350CBR, and it was an incredibly seaworthy boat. The build quality was a step above Sea Ray, although it did have its problems (because it's a boat). Given your intended use, have you explored the 330 or 350 CBR? They have a small sleeping cabin + head, but also make...
