One possibility on our boat is to repurpose the dryer vent as an air intake. There is easy access to the aft air conditioner from the hull vent.
We removed the washer/dryer so it's not used at this time, and all the replacements I have seen are ventless. I would prefer vented, but I just...
This is one of the main (possibly only) negatives of the DB boats, in my opinion. If I remember correctly, the lack of opening side ports in the design is (was) to achieve CE category B (offshore) rating.
I have spent some time trying to think of solutions short of running the air conditioner...
It wasn't something as "official" as a cover plate. As I remember, there is essentially a crevice on the inboard side of the valance. I think I took a few pictures to help me blind-fish from the sofa area. Let me see if they are still around...

The one I have is two separate units, each with their own compressor, and the bottom being a freezer drawer. The freezer is truly a freezer. Just like with residential units, bottom drawer freezers or chest freezers are usually best as the cold air stays...
I did in May of 2022. We chartered a boat called Jan's Felion with three other couples. Strange name, awesome boat and crew!
We had a really great vacation. Is there anything in particular you would like to know? Are you already familiar with the BVI, or are you looking for input on both...
Ah, but you see, I need it all year 'round including while commissioned, not just during during winter layup.
There are guards that stay installed during operation.
They are quiet and essentially problem free. With the bypass you get nice, smooth low RPM operation. I am doing some PropSpeed in the offseason so decided to coat them as well:
This picture is post-cleanup, before paint.
Only drawback I have experience so far, and this is only if you are...
