Need help with my Vessel View Mobile

You will also need the appropriate plug adapter terminal from mercruiser. About $11. It's not plug and play without the adapter.

    2008 240DA holding tank installation

Ok well the 240 came home with us. I’m going to hook up MSD kit to current 5gal portapottie. Question is, boat seems plumbed but only waste (not vent) goes into head. How do you gain access behind the holes where head lines enter? Seems as though it’s through the mid cabin, assume that panel...

    2008 240DA holding tank installation

that’s great info. Yea under a BOAT dollar for a manual system would be great. Already has pump out fitting but boat is from a protected lake where no holding tanks are allowed. Gotta be sure there is room in the bilge though.

    2008 240DA holding tank installation

I have heard the 5gal potty with pump out (what I’ve had on my 230 for the last 7 years) fills up about as fast as a vacuflush of double the size. That (and cost) is why I was wondering about a manual head with larger holding tank. Big fan of the KISS method though.

    2008 240DA holding tank installation

I don’t necessarily need vacuflush. It’s a friends boat and I know it’s history from day 1, which is very appealing to me. Is the only factory configuration portapottie or vacuflush? I don’t really like how much room the vacuflush takes up in the engine room, as a tight engine room is why I just...

    2008 240DA holding tank installation

Hey all, Just sold my 89 230WE after 7 happy years. Looking at a 2008 240DA but it still has the portapottie. Has anyone installed either a manual pump out holding tank or vacuflush to a 240 of this era that only came with a portapottie from the factory? Anything else specific on this model...

Performance of 1980 vintage 240 WE

1987 230WE. 260hp 5.0MPI EFI (replaced original 230hp 5.0 carb). Alpha gen 1. Time to plane with original 3 blade with indicated load was 9-10sec at full tab. Held plane at 22mph and 3100rpm. 4 blade aluminum Solas prop time to plane 4-6sec at 1/3 tab. Holds plane at 18mph and 3k rpm. Slow...

    Speed & RPM's - 1998 SeaRay 290 twin 4.3 Mercruiser 190hp

Bottom clean? Props and drives clean? Number of pass onboard? 4K rpm is a low WOT. Sounds like slippage, overpropped, or dirty. Usually the 4 blades have more bite and time to plane improves. If both motors are same rpm at WOT then seems like prop or bottom. Unlikely both drives and tabs have...

    Has your hull faded ?

Just wet sanded my whole 1987 weekender top to bottom after almost 3 years of no real detail (medical problems limiting manual labor, finally paid). Boat looks better than new, like it literally just came from the mold.

    Step down bilge pump hose

I tried the same on my 87 230 weekender. Ended up patching in a new section for the crack... couldn’t pull it through no matter what I tried.

    Trim Tab Size Increase

Just be 100% sure that the new tabs mount the actuators exactly the same distance from the transom. I saw a tab upgrade where the attachment for the actuator was slightly closer to the transom than stock, made the tabs angle down about 5deg.. the effects on handling were horrendous.

    300 weekender project

So fill us in some. Did you paint all the wood on the interior or re-do it? What did you reuse? Counter tops replaced? What kind of electrical screen is above the dinette now? I have an 87 230 weekender, your little brother. Your boat is a dream, I admire the custom older boats. I’m still...

FAB Dock Dry Dock Solution - Anyone know about them?

I use a slip liner. Mine is made by a company that is no longer in business but armored hull boat shields makes them in San Diego. Boat sits in a liner, one chlorine tab float, no growth at all after over a year in the Slip.

    zincs for alpha 1

You can add the prop shaft anode with a kit from boat zincs. Com. They added it on te alpha II as a shortcoming in protection on the alpha I. I find them useful to add on earlier alphas.

Installation of a "through hull" to cool engine

I did this on my 87 230 when I installed the new EFI motor. Solved a lot of cooling problems, if you trailer you need to plunger flush the through-hull.
