    Which pink for A/C?

Winterizing the A/C on my 340 Sundancer and wondered if I've been doing it correctly. I was using the "Pink" that is for the fresh water system, NOT the pink with corrosion protection for boat motors. Is that correct? Many posts on this just say ..."pour the pink in" but which Pink? :)

Preparing to install Mercruiser Gateway - 2006 340 Sundancer

I am planning on slowly preparing my boat for a Garmin 8610 xsv and Phantom Radar for the winter. I’m thinking I need this gateway I also have read the install manuals and posts and most talk about needing a 6 port box. This pic is what I have using a vessel view 1.5. I have two 4 port...

8.1 idling 10 rpm too high

I’m a newbie to the Diacom so take it easy on me…. My stbd motor has always idled 10 rpm higher than spec of 650 rpm. Using my new laptop set up I tried to diagnose this. I even changed the IAC valve with a spare new one I have onboard. I checked the throttle cable and the reading of the...

Spark plug wire separators on 8.1

So what are you guys using to keep the spark plug wires separated on the 8.1s? On my exhaust manifolds there is a m8 tapped hole on the ends, but I don’t recall a wire loom mounting there. I’m not at the boat but I remember two wires go forward and two go back around the manifolds. I just...

Anyone using EZ2C or the like

On my 340 Sundancer I have three front panels over the windshield I would love to have non flexible covers on someday. When not in use I could store them in the cabin. I know very little about ez2c and wonder do they form the radius of the panels to match the windshield? Are there any...

    Purchasing Rinda kit for troubleshooting

Looking for input from those who have the software. My buddy and I both own 2006 boats. Mine is a 340 Sundancer with the 8.1 and v-drives and his is a Formula 34 PC with 496 and bravo three’s. Basically the same motors. We decided to split the cost of the Rinda software and cable. My IT guy...

Cool fuel 3 upgrade has launch date delayed

I am so frustrated. Last year I spent so much time finding a dealer who knew about the upgrade and was willing to do it. I finally found one who stated they could perform the upgrade over the winter. I had to store the boat there so it could be a winter project for them. They are close to my...

    Resealing above waterline thru hulls

I am resealing the 2 1/2” exhaust thru hull and a smaller 5/8” for a sink drain. One of my posts about resealing cockpit hatch hinges, it was suggested to use Buytl tape for the hinge and bolts as it’s a great all purpose sealer above the waterline. I believe Lazy Daze and Techmitch...

Replacing impeller on newer style Merc raw water pump

Replacing circulating pump on 8.1 w/v-drives

I noticed on one motor a drop of antifreeze in the water pump weep hole so while I have the mufflers out I’m going to replace them. For those who have changed these, do I have to remove the crossover tube or can I lift the water pump into the special seal on the bottom of the crossover tube...

Advice on removing cockpit hatch hinge on 2006 340 SDA

I have been chasing a water leak on my new boat. I see water drips under the hatch hinge mounting plate in the bilge. My plan is to remove the bolts and lift the hinge at the swim platform and clean and seal both sides… However, the nuts are in the bilge. That means As I see it I need to: 1)...

    2006 340 SDA zinc questions w/v-drives

I am in salt water in New England and launched the boat May 1 when I bought it. The boat was just hauled and I saw the transom zinc looks like it disintegrated. What material should I use? Zinc or aluminum? The trim tab zincs looked ok compared to the transom one. My last boat had a bravo 3...

LED lighting causing OTA signal loss

A few weeks back I was able to install a new Glomex marine antenna since it was missing when I bought the boat. I also installed the automatic signal amp that came with it.
