Much appreciated. I've had at least one green car since 2009, and that needs to continue. Wife really wanted the Sublime, since that was her choice at the Radford school this year, but those are tougher to find with the equipment that I wanted.
Agreed. I'm a PS4 snob, but holy crap those are pricey for a set. I'll still get them, but try to keep the "accidental" burnouts to a minimum.
When I did Radford in 23, I was in a Redeye with Pirellis and killed them dead in 3 days. When I did it this year, I was in a 485hp widebody 6-spd...
Oh, and I did something kind of silly. Ditched the 2016 S6 and a 2016 Audi A3 that I had, and picked this up. 2019 Redeye Widebody with 6500 miles. It's ridiculous.
Funny thing about him. Back when I was running a Lambo dealer in SLC, his was the shop we subbed out all of our bodywork to. Got to know him and Kevin pretty well back in the early 00's. I moved back to NY in 2004, lost touch as those things usually go. Flipping channels about 10 years ago...
I've always loved MX5s. Only owned one though. '95 M-edition. Did a few mods including a Flyin' Miata rocker arm and center chassis butterfly braces. Really tightened things up a bunch.
That car looks great. Currently looking for an F8 green redeye widebody. And yeah, our school cars were on P-zeros. Maybe for the best that they weren't on anything overly sticky. Agreed about brake fade. Not sure what pads they used, but after a good 20 minutes hot lapping, I would have to...
Funny you mention that car. I never expected them to handle as well as they do, given the weight, but I had a blast at this school last January. Did a 3-day course. Wife and I are heading back there this coming January, she's taking that same intro course, and I'm doing the advanced. Great...
Have driven plenty, and know their characteristics well. That engine hangs way back behind the rear halfshafts. Cook it too hard into a sweeper, start to feel the front end wash out, the initial reaction is always to snap that throttle shut. Then front tires suddenly get a bite, and that...
For me, the Manheim Market Report rules all....well, rules most anyway.
I did buy this car right, but am also in the biz of making a hit on anything I buy :-)
Oh nice! Those cars are oddly not bad on a track. When I was in Scottsdale, I did a 3 day school at Radford (Formerly Bondurant) that I won playing the fantasy bid game. Had a blast with those.
LOL. I completely understand that itch. Had an 88 LX 5.0 when I was 24, and ended up bracket...
All good, just putting it out there, and using recent BAT results as a gauge. Makes for a good excuse to hit Barrett Jackson again next January at any rate.
Had one of those about 5 years ago also. Needed a LOT of help when I bought it for $3500, put another $2200 into it and sold it 5...
Well, that's pretty ironic, since I'm planning on bringing my '06 to sell at Barrett Jackson next January. Rod bearings done, VANOS done, subframe is in pristine condition. 99k miles, shadowline trim, 6-spd manual, spare tire kit, wind deflector.
Bought it from a friend in Houston 2 years...
