Hello all,
Well I've finally come to the end of the long saga of code 25.
I'll keep it short and sweet...exhaust shutter valve in the exhaust y.
The starboard one was clogged and not letting the proper amount of water flow.
Anyway...happy it's over.
I also want to thank all who responded to...
Googled it.. Thanks.
It was mentioned that this issue is usually associated with Bravos that are in the water full time.
The boat is on a cradle and flushed after every use.
Cheers,
Larry
Good morning all,
As some of may recognize this post, I have some updated information to share....it's not a faulty water pressure sensor, a pump, or anything to do with water pressure.
I decided it was time to bring in a pro with the proper tools to diagnose the problem, which at the time I...
Morning John,
I have no idea what he used for test equipment.
The digital tach in the dash flashes the code and I also have a mercruiser vesselview addon on the dash.
They both agree on the pressures. My money is on the poorly manufactured mercruiser flow sensor.
There are other flow sensors...
Good morning,
The digital dash. The tach beeps and flashes two five. Then engine cuts back to around a thousand.
As I recall...the VesselView shows normal pressure and temperature. This only happened at higher RPM. The last time it happened the engine was at thirty-two hundred RPM. It never...
No worries...If you find something else or it's mis-information yet me know please. I'm going to physically check this sensor out before I install..
Cheers,
larry
Good morning,
I spent some more time researching other sensors that could take the place of the mercruiser sensor.
I found out that Mercruiser doesn't produce any parts for the power, as you already know, so I cruised around the web and stumbled onto other boat clubs that their members have the...
Thank you John, and everybody else that has responded to this thread.
The concensus, I think is the sensor is defective. Another $165.00.
Again. Many thanks,
Larry
Hi Mitch,
Thanks for your response..much appreciated!!
To your question. I believe there are three wires connected to the pig tail..I'll have to check.
I believe your suggesting that I run the boat with the sensor disconnected. Do you think that would cause any major problems??
Your 270 looks...
Yes...I suppose every engine is different...Do you think it's possible that the new sensor could be the issue??
I'm wondering if, for some reason it's shorting out around that range.... it's a head scratcher!!!
Thanks for your thoughts,
Larry
Hi John,
Yes those numbers looked good to me as well.
The problem arises when the RPM reaches around 3200, and a code 25 appears on the digital speedo. The Raw water pump and the pressure sensor have been replaced with factory parts.
What ye say John??
Cheers,
Larry
