Appreciate the response, Kevin. I have not done any maintenance on them so I will take the opportunity to grease them and see what that does. The noise is loud. Like putting gravel in a coffee can on a rotisserie; best way I can describe it. Probably not the pins., but maybe. I assume yours...

Hello! Looking for advice/info on the hatch rams/lifts. Mine have been making this horrible noise, like there's rocks in the system when going up or down. I've searched the forum for anyone else that has experienced this and while is a post or 2, I can't seem to find anything that says it's...

I did not have to fold anything out of the way. If standing on the dash, unless you are vertically challenged, the arch will be about chest height. you should have plenty of reach at that point to tilt the light forward. I am assuming your light is on the front side of the radar dome, like my...

open or remove your front isenglass, close the sliding door to the cabin, climb up stand on the front dash or whatever you call it. easy access to the light. mine requires a wrench to loosen the nut and then it simply folds down. Remove the screw on the top cover and you now have access.

    Loud Transmission Knocking Noise

had very similar issue over the summer; spark plug wire had popped off on the port side engine. caused a horrible knock in the gear box while in gear and idling through no wake. thought the trans was shot. popped the plug wire back on, noise gone. coincides with the mis-fire video posted...

8.1 engine guys , water PSI question

I have 2004 8.1's but I recently had the same issue. Sounds like a sensor to me. Port side alarmed and I limped back at idle. Prior to that, my port read lower pressure than starboard. So, I swapped them. While the low pressure moved from port to starboard, during the swap process , I blew...

    Uneven Fuel Burn

Old thread, but wanted to revisit to see if the OP found resolution? I have vesselview installed on my 2004 340da with 8.1 v- drives and find that my port engine burns 2 gph more than the starboard at ~3800 rpm. 2 gph seems pretty significant. Would really like to hear from other captains that...

Like the previous person said, that sensor with the high water pressure is probably bad. 2.5 PSI at idle is where it should be. I don't believe either Port or Starboard engines use Fuel Level Circuit 2; they only use Fuel Level Circuit 1. If I'm incorrect, someone with more knowledge of the...

No Pitot on v-drives. I began receiving the same error after I installed Mercury Vesselview. I reset the Smartcraft system so it rediscovered the sensors, but even after I reset it, the Pitot settings are still in the system and every so often the Pitot sensor alarm comes back. I simply...

Matt, I just replaced my starboard side water sensor 2 days ago. It's a 10 minute job and you don't have to remove anything. The water sensor sits on top of the water pump, just above the blue drain plug. unplug the connector, grab with a pair of channel locks or vice grips. Once loose, you...

Appreciate that. Yes, I did trace the hoses; one blue and one red. So, I'm assuming it's disconnected and/or was never connected. Just didn't make sense to me for there to be a hose bib with no connection to it. Do others have a dedicated hose off the manifold or a T fitting off of another...

Question re: the fresh water wash down in the trunk. As a new owner of this boat, I assumed it was connected to the cold water side of the manifold. However, to my surprise, i turned it on yesterday to wash down my anchor chain and I have no water coming out. The freshwater system breaker was...

    Vessel view mobile

Installed VV Mobile and like the interface and the data it provides. Much easier to navigate vs the stock SC5000. I use an IPAD most times, but also have the app on my phone, although it does not appear that you can view on both simultaneously. Bright sun will be a problem for most mobile...

    Smartcraft Connect

Hello, Has anyone purchased and installed the new Smartcraft Connect from Mercury Marine and insatlled with their Axiom or other MFD's? I am hoping to get some feedback on the interface and data that is provided and how it compares to the stock SC system. Aside from a modern look/feel, does...

    Hello from VA

Nice to virtually meet all of you. My first post here since purchasing my '04 340 DA last August. Proud owner of this awesome boat. I've read a lot of the information on the forums and learned quite a bit; some of which I've put to good use already. Boat is slipped on Neabsco Creek. Have a...
