Welcome. Best bet is to take some time to read through the entire thread. Will be the best way to gain the most insight from past and present owners. Never know, you may even see a reference to the same boat here.

It was an old question, and I can't see any answers, but I'm looking to confirm the same. I suspect 5/16 medium link which is unusual.

My 96 is probably even a little slower again, although it's always difficult to compare with different weight/loads, bottom condition and water conditions! Keen to see what decisions and results you go with.

Has anyone update the gypsy on the lofrans windlass to accept larger chain? (In my case, I want to use 10mm instead of 5/16)

Thanks mate, I'm starting to think there's no options for the smaller ones though. Nothing under 15A

I need to replace most of these resetable circuit breakers, but I'm struggling to find a good straight-swap replacement here is AUS. Has anyone replaced these, and if so what did you source?

I think they come from the outside.

N No, I never found a good replacement and left it on the to do list.... I do need to sort it though.

I dont think it will solve all the issues you described but I think it will help part of the way. The dead battery not being a dead battery though has me thinking. Maybe check your earth strap and make sure it's good....

I've been through a lot of things with my generator. For the low cost and some of what you mentioned, grab some new capacitors and put them in. Easy job and one thing to take out of the next few troubleshooting steps. I'd then be checking the governor oil level. As for the not starting/dead...

If it were me, I'd just replace with generic aftermarket similar product. I'm sure whoever pulled it out of the water can assist.

My issue was resolved when I replaced the slave solenoid. Have you load tested each of your batteries?

In case it helps anyone else, westerbeke coil and resistor (037968) AU$580 is the same as a Daihatsu Charade, I chose an Aussie brand, Tridon TIC074 replacement for $80 and got the generator running again immediately.

Hi all, I have a love/hate relationship with my westerbeke 7.0 BCG that's for sure. I do some work, it Runs great for a bit then stops again. I suspect the coil to be honest, but my real question is this: Research tells me the 7.0bcg engine would be a daihatsu CB 993cc engine found in a...

Just recapping this. New fuel pump in and replaced capacitors (again) and it looks to be back running fine.

Thanks, I've been suspicious of it but no real reason until now to suspect a fuel issue.
