Nice work, it looks good.
Does anyone know the impeller for the 8.1’s. I bought the boat 2 years ago and want to change them out. In my search I’m finding two different ones. Thanks
I had a boat with diesel’s for ten years. There really is no comparison to gas engine. Handling around a dock and no bogging down in a swell is great. On the engine survey make sure the are propped to 2850 and send out oil samples on engine and trannies.
But just be prepared on those 3116 or...
I keep mine in the basement. I would maybe bring my spare set if I was doing a very long cruise but that’s it. On an inboard boat, it has to be pulled and put on a travel lift to change the prop anyways. I really don’t see the need to keep a spare set on the boat.
Quick question I just tried to turn on my Mercury smart craft and its asking for a key code. I didn't get anything from the previous owner and it was fine at the end of last year. Just wondering if anyone has run into this before.
Thanks
I feel your pain i just bought a 2003 340 late October. Got to take it on a 6 hr cruise to my home port but thats it. The boat does run great with the 8.1's. I could not believe how quite it was, but I'm coming from a 32 twin diesel express. You were sitting right on top of the engines.
I switched a couple of years ago to the Smoove products. Much better results compared to 3m and Meguire. Collinite is still one of the best waxes out there
I just purchased a 2003.5 340. Coming from a diesel 32 luhrs. I figuired I would fish more but just didn't happen. It's time for a nice comfy boat for the family. This thread is great I'm sure I'm going to have a bunch of questions.
Does anyone know the LOA of a 2001 380. Most places say 42ft overall. I was just wondering if anyone has actually measured there's. I have a 40ft slip and they will probably let me keep it if the LOA is closer to 41ft.
