I dropped the cap in the water. I went to West Marine and got a new 1.25". The diameter was correct but the threads were different. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement cap. Or know the thread type and pitch. The cap off the gas tank fits.

We have a 1989 Quicksilver 8KW generator. Engine starts and runs fine. The temperature of the engine based on heat gun remain constant regardless of load on generator. Manual says max AMP draw is 33 per side. We have a 140AMP inverter charger and a village marine watermaker. The draw rate for...

Anyone have any idea what the cost to replace the canvas on the boat would be. Price so far is $24,000 CDN = $17,000 US. No support work is required on SS frame.
The riser temperature on the 7.4 (SeaRay Mecruiser) is 80F when running regardless of RPM the temperature on the 5.7 Jetboat (Marinepower) is 140F when at idle and 130F at 4,000 RPM. All lines are clear. Jetboat gets it water supply from the jet drive so there is no raw water pump. Both engines...

Have a 2008, 350 Vortex with 180 hours on it in my jetboat. Run it at 3,700 RPM most of the time. Use SAE 30 single weight oil. Manufacture recommends 30 or 40 weight oil.

We keep our boat on the hard in Anacortes. We used to winterize the main engines with Propylene Glycol solution but can not do so due to new on land discharge rules.

I assume this question has been asked before; but due to changing technology latest information would be of help.
Looking for a small 5" chart plotter for dinghy that has water speed by probe and by GPS, depth with with fish indicator, built in GPS, and can be loaded with charts.
General question. If you run your boat at 3,500 to 4,000 RPM extended time do you use oil. Reason for asking I ran engine for 35 hours at high RPM over a 4 day period and it burnt 1 quart of oil. No smoke, no water in oil, no loss of power. Engine hours 120. Engine 5.7 year 2008.
Just for information
Boat was using about a quart of antifreeze every 10 hours. The over flow bottle level did not change. Turned out rad cap had failed. Never seen one fail before.
The depth gauge only works when we go slow. It is located just below the hull on aft of the boat. Should I put it a few inches below the hull? IE deeper into the water.
