great trip would be to Bohicket Marina on Seabrook Island next to Kiawah
very good lunch places at the marina and Freshfields and an hour ride on the ICW and almost the same on the outside
much better trip is to do oswego to the 1000 islands, Montreal, Lake Champlain and pickup the skis at the bottom of Lake Champlain.
Locks are a complete waste of time on a ski
Lake Champlain i would argue is about as good as fresh water cruising can get. Those who dont think so would...

Go with Garmin. I have used Raytheon, Furuno NavNetv2, Raymarine E-120, Nobeltec and Garmin is my approved solution.
Can go into details if interested, but those touchscreen Garmins in my mind are unbeatable. Boated with all those combos for 6 years.
Get GARMIN
My commute usually takes 2 games of cribbage........depends on the winds........if the winds aloft at FL 410 are good, then it's 1:15. If the winds are lousy, it takes +15min max. jet is 3 min from my PA house and boat is 15 min from airport on Johns Island in SC.
hello turtle toad

good, and of course 5 months later furuno comes out wiht Navnet3
have an everglades and that has 2 raymarine E-120s with a dome radar and that seemed as good as the furuno.

i use some handheld versions.
I boat at night alot, but never alone. Anyway, i use my two E-120s for gps and radar and depth and I have someone always using the NVGs and talking to me about the view
i guess i should have responded with, Have you looked at handheld NVGs?
Death of my boat? YOU got to be kidding me. INsurance will cover this, you'll end up with something guaranteed to better than what you had and you act like you just lost your precious pet.
I'd be rejoicing and trying to figure out how i could claim the whole enchilada.
