1985 Sundancer 250 moderate restoration

Oh, I miss the teak from earlier boats greatly. I figured out a pretty good process and routine to keep it looking nice. It adds so much to the look of a boat in my opinion.

We just purchased a 1985 Sundancer 270. My first boat. I contemplated changing out the wood (it's in pretty bad shape) but I can't bring myself to do it!! What is your routine? ANY advice on appreciated!!

Beautiful!! Thank You!

Well I am back at it a year later after having to put on back burner due to other projects. The picture links on the original post have gone away so i am re-posting them here with up to date images. Am finally very close to building up, rather than tearing down now. I was relieved to find the stringer rot had ended right at the aft end of the aft-cabin bulkhead.

Discovered that the decking below the gas tank was the last hold out of wet foam and rotten wood. Luckily it didn't transfer into the solid stringer sections. Pretty sure that is the end of the crud.

Did a project like that once with an '81 Sea Ray. Definitely don't care to do it again, but it did come out well.

Absolutely great boat. Good luck with it.
