I remodeled the instrument panel on my 1998 SR 215ec. I removed all of the original SR gauges, and then the original instrument panel. I made a new instrument panel board and then laid out the new panel design. I installed the new gauges into the new panel and wired everything up following the wire schematic in the owners manual. I also moved the ignition switch and Halon light to the surface next to the trim tab switches, using the newer type ignition panel that is used in the newer 215ec model years. I also now have a full set of SR gauges that were removed for the remodel if anyone is interested.

Wow- dash looks great. If you don’t mind me asking can you give me the brand of switches and gauges. They look great! Thanks

Hi everyone... I just got back on the CSR forum today. Been very busy..... and regretfully sold the 215EC (big mistake). OK.... so to answer Darin Dee. As for the burlwood panel, I went online and googled "Burl Wood Dashpanel Material" and though I don't remember the website, I bought two 36" x 24" pieces! I removed the origanal panel and traced the outline onto the new material. I used a table mounted router with a formica triming bit to cut the panel out. I then drew the panel design on a piece of shelf liner (with sticky back) and used the proper diameter hole saws for the instrument holes. WARNING... The hole diameters listed in the instrument mounting insturctions do NOT include the bezel diameter. You must plan for the TOTAL diameter of the gauges when laying out the panel. The gauges are Faria Chesapeak white gauge set with a GPS speedo (about $350 when I purchased them 3 yrs. ago). The switches were purchased from New Wire Marine. About $80 for the ones I needed. They have many different types, colors and lighted ones to choose from. You will have to move the ignition switch down next to the trim tab switch panel. I bought the newer ignition switch panel as used in the 225 weekender from Flounder Pounder. Easy to do. You will notice all the wires for the instruments are color coded. Use your wiring diagram to help with the new gauge hook-ups.. Good Luck!
