310 Sundancer Thread (2007 & newer)

Greg,
Any chance of doing the switches without removing the mirror? Can you just pull the old ones off and pull the wires up through and splice the new ones on?

The wires on mine were pulled tight.
I probably could have got enough slack to butt splice onto them, but being in the anchor locker I thought it was best to make sure the wires were secure, and out of the way of the anchor rode.
You can see the two small holes in the top left of the pic, , then the wires from the switch.
It's not hard to remove the mirror.

So I found another picture, and it looks like you could splice them if you want.
I chose not to for the above mentioned reason.

Anyone know what this piece is called and or where to get one?

it connects the canvas straight bars from the radar arch to the aft curved bar.

I got the new piece, finally found it.

Does anyone know how to gain access to the fresh water tank? Is it through the mid cabin? Behind the couch?

Also, see attached photo, it says there is storage under the salon couch. Does anyone know how to open it and gain access?

Fresh water tank access is limited to an access port under the rear seat in the mid berth. If I remember correctly, you can slide the center portion of the seat bottom forward to expose the small access port. Replacing the tank,if the need ever arose, seemed like it would be a major project.

Contrary to the manual, there is no useable storage under the couch. That area is largely consumed when the seat bottom is pushed in (normal position). From what I can tell, the note in the manual is a carry over from the 350 (2007-2009 330) manual which I believe does actually have useable storage under the couch.

Thanks for the quick reply. I wanted to take the freshwater tank out as I have to clean my filter many times a day depending on how much water I use because it gets clogged with a black silicon like substance. Not sure what it is, I’ve used some tank freshener but I don’t think that’s strong enough. I guess I’ll have to try and figure something else out to clean this crud out of the tank. It’s getting very annoying.

The previous owner said there wasn’t storage and I couldn’t open the couch but I was hopeful. Thank you for the confirmation.

Technically, there is space under the couch. However, designing access that works given the sliding seat base is the problem.

I eventually removed the cushion to allow access but because the cushion is extra deep to support sliding out, it is very awkward to muscle it out of the way to gain access to the limited space.

So, depending on what you’re looking to store and how frequently you want to access it (and what choice words you want to utter while doing so), I would say it’s probably great for mounting audio amps, etc, but not for casual use items.

So I am trying to replace the wiper arm and wiper blades. I spoke with SR and they sent me new arms and new blades. The arms don’t look like the original ones but they are adjustable so I can make them the same length. However, the blades they sent are 20” where the ones I took off the boat were 18”. The parts person insists the 20” blades are correct. Can anyone measure their blades and take pictures of the original setup for me please. Thank you!

Peter

i have 20" wipers on the boat. however I now have to replace my starboard motor. Has anyone attempted this? as far as i can tell I may have to remove the entire cabinet above couch.

I bought a new cord for my vhf, so I decided to keep it.
As far as removing the headboard mirror, I just took my time. The screw covers mostly broke, they're glued on. I should have taken more care to remove them.
It was pretty straight forward, I thought.
Where did you find a new cord!?

I know, I had been eyeballing that icom for a while. I just decided to replace the cord since the radio works just fine, and I didn't have to change anything out.
It was a tough decision to buy the cord for that price, but eventually decided to do it.
Where I boat, the vhf doesn't even get used for the most part, I didn't need a new upgraded radio.

New camper canvas!
I did all of the hardware myself and a local guy did the canvas. Very happy with the way it turned out.
Got the hardware from Sailrite... all 1" SS. All in ~$2,100

Does the Isinglass roll up or zip out somehow, maybe with a screen to replace it?
No screens... all 4 panels (3 Isinglass and 1 door) roll up and have straps to hold in place. Or, with zippers, you can remove the whole panel and store.

OK, I was just worried the Isinglass was fixed. Great cold weather protection, but a freaking greenhouse in the sun.

I don't think I personally would get much out of screen panels, but I could see where they would be really nice if bugs were an issue where you boat.

@mobocracy Bugs are not a problem on our lake. These panels are mainly for rain cover... big down pours. The new Bimini stays up all of the time now for shade and light showers.
