Hello, I have a 340 Express Cruiser (1985) and whenever I connect the portside cranking battery an alarm goes off. The alarm sounds without turning the keys. If I keep the battery disconnected but turn on my converter from shore power, the alarm also goes off.

I was able to find the alarm and I've attached pictures of what's making the noise. It had two wires going into one side and one going into the other side.

Some of the writing I can make out are:

Cole Hersee Boson USA
12V
40__ (the rest of these numbers are rusted).

Thanks in advance for your help and let me know if I can give any more information.

Thanks Mitch! Happy to join the community! I will try to find a float switch when I go back to the boat and report back.

Hi Mitch! Sorry for taking a bit to follow up. Just got back to the boat this weekend. The float switch was down but I manually moved it up and back down and it did make the alarm go away. Thanks so much for your help!
