Anyone know hawaiian?Tryin to name boat

Dang... just name the boat Lea Mau. Multiple meanings depending on how you combine the various definitions for each of the words. Some naughty, some nice.

Doug's in Michigan and you're in Washington so no one will realize that you just slapped his wife's name on your boat. :wow:

thanks lea and doug ,i have two more for you to translate if you have a minute."the soul seeker" and "the fish seeker" that last one sounds kind of nice too though " flower of a sweetheart" kinda rolls nice in hawiian

The nut comment was based on my affection for Hawaii's best asset.

LOL not quite but a real plus..
Doug's favorite Hawaiian asset are Coconut Bras! LOL you know the one's the hula dancers wear?? Just ask him he'll tell ya that is definitely Hawaii's best asset!! :smt043

name it "howly" :smt043:smt043:smt043:smt043

Wow how haole can you get with that spelling? :smt038
haole = White person, American, Englishman, Caucasian; American, English; formerly, any foreigner; foreign, introduced, of foreign origin, as plants, pigs, chickens; entirely white, of pigs:smt018

You're welcome. "Flower of a Sweetheart" = Maka pua mae ʻole (of a sweetheart)

sweetheart = Ipo. Also: aloha, kāne, huapala, wai puna hoa ʻinau, ʻanoʻi pua. See sayings, kāī, make lena 2, pūnua, uhu 1, endearing, flower. In songs, a sweetheart may be likened to flowers (pua); to any particular flower (as ʻawapuhi, ʻilima, kalaunu, kiele, kukui, laniuma, lehua, maile, mamo, melia, pīkake); buds (liko); leis; fragrance (ʻala, ʻaʻala, onaona); ferns (lauaʻe, palai); birds (ʻiʻiwi, kaʻupu, manu, ʻōʻō, pūnua); fish (kole, kūmū, manō, ulua); and spring water (wai puna).

My personal favorite Hawaiian phrase is
"My Sweetheart" =
ū ipo
Ku u meaning My
ipo meaning sweetheart
, lover.
Kāna ipo, his or her sweetheart. Ipo ahi, ardent lover. Ipo lauaʻe, sweet natured lover. Ipo manauahi, extramarital lover, mistress. hoʻo ipo = To make love, court, woo. >(How appropriate is this phrase?)

ū Breast, teat, udder vs. Moist, soaked; to drip, drizzle, ooze; impregnated, as with salt. To moisten, soak, wet.

My personal suggestion, try to keep your name simple if possible, and pronounce it correctly or you will have locals laugh at you if they heard it mispronounced.

(Have fun!)= ua hele au Leʻaleʻa Pono! (Safe Boat Journey) = Palekana Moku Huakaʻi .. (love always)= Aloha mau~ Lea
