Are you ready for an EV pickup?

Trucks are also for hauling stuff around in the bed. Trees, shrubs, bikes, appliances.....shall I go on? I've owned some suv's and absolutely hate them. I have zero need for 3rd row seating and a truck has way more flexibility carrying things.
JC, we have an Infiniti SUV and love it. If I really needed to haul something I have friends with pickups or I could rent one from U-Haul for $19.95 a day with unlimited mileage.

I own multiple trucks for work and play. All set up differently to perform different tasks. No EV will ever be able to perform those duties in my lifetime thankfully. So no EV for me. Plus as long as we are charging from the coal/gas/nuclear powered grid their scam does not work on me.

Next Cummins will start to make electric boat motors

Don’t laugh. They are trying different power generation systems, and have partnered with Eaton for a powertrain system as well. Nautique also offers an electric wake boat, and it appears to have a 3-4 hour use range as well. Actually not bad for low speed high power applications.

I am a motorhead but will not discount EVs as they have their benefits. I would not object to an EV pickup when it can haul 8k lbs 200 miles and NOT a cost $100. Until then, I’ll enjoy my turbo 6.

Lots of mixed emotions with the EV pickup like the F150 Lightning…..One thing that hasn’t been mentioned yet is how hard it is to wipe the stupid grin off your face after a 0-60 run in 4 seconds.

I will openly admit that is the only good thing I have experienced in the EV's. I have driven a buddy's Tesla and it was fast.

Although once you have experienced a late model Ferrari it makes the EV seem a bit underpowered.

baaahhh....i had a 650HP Chevelle that would snap your neck. I need my trucks for towing and hauling, not burning tires.

Why do you need a truck if you don't tow?
Trucks are for towing., hauling, and doing work!
I have a Ford Excursion diesel that a use for TOWING the boats. Gets good milage too. Guess what? It stays parked most of the time. Its not because I can't afford fuel. Quite the opposite. I don't daily drive it because it's huge and a pain in the ass and doesn't handle well or fun to drive to and from work. Tows great though!
I drive a Focus ST most of the time or the 02 Ford ranger 4x4 when I need that. Mostly the Focus ST. That car is fun!
That's just what we need more big trucks on the road with no purpose.
Btw the new f150 crew cab is almost exactly the same size as my Excursion. Had a loaner when I was getting a new transmission in the ex. Why is the ex so evil but there are tons of f150/250 the same size all over?

Although I agree, and have a 2000 Ford Expedition 4x4 as purely a tow rig, some of those F150’s are sweet.
Is your Ex the 7.3? or 6.x?

Yes yes I’m a Ford bigot.

7.3L may not have the most power like the new one but mine will still be running long after those are dead.
