Best Soap for Regular Cleanings?

I just bought a gallon of turtle wax soap from Costco. If it works it can stay on the boat.. if not it can go to the garage. I think this stuff is all the same… in this day and age I think soap is already invented.. nobody can have superior soap and keep it a secret

I have been using the Turtle Wax soap by the gallon from WalMart for 5+ years. Doesn’t strip wax, does as good of a job as expensive soap I have used, and is cheap.

I have been buying the west marine pink gallons when they’re buy one get one free. I tried the super expensive 3M boat wash last year and it didn’t seem to do anything different.

i also use a foam cannon so the cheaper the better, it chugs the stuff down on the lowest setting

I do have a bottle of the Starke soap on hand because I ordered a bunch of their stuff this year and decided to try the soap while I was at it. I doubt it’ll do anything the cheap stuff dowsnt, though.

I use this stuff. It’s there wash and wax product. important that whatever you use it is ph balanced to not strip all the was off. This regularly goes on sale for 12-15 throughout the year. The gallon lasts more than a season with weekly washes using a foam gun
Chemical Guys CWS207 Extreme Bodywash & Wax Foaming Car Wash Soap, (Works with Foam Cannons, Foam Guns or Bucket Washes) For Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, RVs & More, 128 fl oz (1 Gallon), Grape Scent https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072M24R5F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3Z400XNFHF40VD7NKMN5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Curios about the foam guns/cannons. I have a sedan bridge and would need a sprayer that can spray some distance to reach the higher parts of the boat. Any suggestions?

Been using this a couple years now and love it.

Clueless on using a foam cannon. So you cover the boat with suds from the cannon and still have to use a brush?

Suds lift dirt. If you are weekly washing this works. If you are covered in spider and bird poop that has baked in the sun No. I use that chamois mop head once I foam the craft up to make easy work of it all.

It would be tough in a bridge boat. I have the foam gun which connects to the gardens hose. It’s not going to spray out very far like one connected to a pressure washer.

Which model?

I have never been a fan of the foam sprays, I just don't think they can do as good a job as a rag or brush, remember scrubbing bubbles? ;)

Interesting how many mentioned the smell of the soap as a positive. Is that marketing maybe? If it smells good it works well?

For a first wash of the season I use Oxy Clean. Gets rid of black streak easily and removes old wax. I follow up with compounding and then Regex which seems to last multiple months making future black streak removal with boat soap easy.

Regex is awesome stuff. Holds the shine well through out the summer. I use Meguiar's Gold Class, keeps everything clean and shinny.
