Bezos 417' yacht

I wonder why they don't get the vessel under the bridge and then put the mast's on somewhere else. With money being no issue I would think no biggie.
I wondered that also but then found out that those are called unstayed masts and essentially the boat and the systems to articulate the masts are built around them. It would be like saying why can't I cut the hull in half to get the boat through a short lock?

There was a news blip yesterday that some are going to line up and throw rotten eggs at the boat when it passes through the bridge. You know, there are those who believe we should contribute more to society than we take; I try to live my life with this philosophy. Many believe society owes them. Mr. Bezos, I suspect, is also in the give more than take group based upon the work we do with Blue Origin (his space operations company). One can be a very successful capitalist and yet give more than they take. I also suspect the egg throwers are in the other category.

You mean the Sears that was a household trusted name, that allowed its auto repair division to commit fraud? That was the beginning of their downfall.
What was the fraud? I don’t think I ever heard about that.

Looks like they never did take the old bridge apart to get it out. They towed it to another shipyard and installed the masts there.

I dont see it. If i had that much money i still wouldn’t have a boat somebody else has to drive. And he will never ‘voyage’ on it. The crew will take it across oceans to wherever and after flying on private jets (with a hired pilot) and helicopter (again with hired pilot) he will meet the boat , spend a couple days on it and see it next year.
nope, not my style.
But thanks Jeff, I returned some amazon stuff at UPS store at 9am yesterday and by 11 the money was refunded to my card. Enjoy the boat.
Oh. Mackenzie was a whole lot cuter than the Messican hotel maid you got now. You farked up up boy.

I wouldn't have the least bit of a problem getting used to that lifestyle.

I have to admit, I think I would. I still like doing things for myself. What do the super wealthy do with yachts of this size? I understood the Presidential Yachts, they used them in many different ways. But 400+ feet? You’d never see your guests. I guess that’s the point

Parallels to anyone's purchase of a boat, right?
What was an eye opener to me is the short article in this month's P&M from a superyacht captain. The business networking that the boat attracts is amazing. I get it.

I’ve done the math, and ‘hired help’ is much cheaper and better looking than Ms Sanchez over the long run. Not sure why he went this route.

I can’t believe the 40 people….you would need all kinds of HR help

With 230' masts, that ship can't get into a lot of places. Even the Tampa Bay Sunshine Skyway bridge wouldn't be tall enough for it to pass underneath! Same with the Golden Gate bridge. Might squeak under the Verrazano-Narrows bridge at low tide (maybe).

Not dating anymore, now engaged?!!

Last wife was much hotter.
This weekend my wife and I talked about a prenup….. I said if I had a ton of money when we got married would you sign a prenup…….after she stopped laughing for 20 minutes…… she said sure… I said just like that…she said yes….she literally had no problem with it….. I was surprised

If one party had means and the other party didn't but resisted a prenup I would second guess that relationship.

The fact is if you stay together forever it's irrelevant otherwise, as someone who's going through it, it can be very torturous.

I worked with someone that was afraid to get married because he was afraid that his wife would get his money if they divorced. He asked me if I wasn't worried if my wife got my money. We got married right after we graduated college. When we walked down the aisle, we had $700 between us. Everything we have today is both of ours. We worked hard for what we have.
