I have a mercruiser 5.o L mpi bravo 3 sterndrive. I have a beeping sound from dashboard every 54 seconds. When boat is in driveway getting washed or in the water. All oils have been topped up and temp gauge and bilge float are newly installed. Any idea what I could check next?

What year is your boat? My 1995 330DA would do this when the dash got wet/moist, if I recall correctly it was a short in the systems monitor at the dash.

Hi all, it's only one 2 sec beep every 54 seconds.
2003 searay 220 sundeck, mercruiser 5.0L MPI bravo 3.

When it's getting washed in the driveway, the assumption is that the boat is off. Please clarify.

2 beeps every minute is the result of a particular sensor complaining. At this point, it would only be a guess.

Yes engine off when washed, inside dash is dry but not sure if dry in throttle arm.

Iit

Yes engine off, dry in dashboard but not sure if throttle has moisture.

It's a one beep every 54 seconds. This one beep does not show on mercruiser fault codes. Only from 2 beeps onwards. I cannot get mechanic to scan until end march hence want to fault find myself.

The Mercruiser engine will not initiate a horn (that's what Merc calls it) without the engine running or at least the key switch turned to "run".

The only single beep would be the test horn when you first turn the key to "run" or "start". This is simply to test the system. But I am 99% sure it won't beep again after a minute if you left the key "on".

We really need much more info here - it's a little hard to figure things out with the limited info. Although, we may still not be able to figure out from where we are! :)

What other accessories do you have that could be beeping? Meaning, how do you KNOW FOR SURE that it's the Merc beeping? Depthfinder? GPS?

Ok, so the one beep per 54 seconds is when I start the engine and it is idling or motoring. Like I mentioned in my first post.
And yes when I turn the ignition on I get the system beeps like normal. Run engine and then I get the beep every 54 seconds. Depth sensor is always off aswell as stereo. Someone mentioned knock sensors.

The beep comes from the siren thing in dash which is connected to temp oil etc from the electrical drawings.

Still not clear - above you said the same thing happens when the eninge is off but here it sounds like you are saying it is only when the engine is running?

+1 with @Lazy Daze here, might be an alternative systems? A real puzzler. We live in Tucson, AZ, and keep our vessel in Stockton, CA. 12 hours away…..:( . One time we got home from a two week stay on boat, and after a couple of days the marina calls and say’s “You’ve got an alarm sounding on your boat, do we have your permission to check it out? I said of course, I knew it wasn’t an ignition alarm, I had the keys on Arizona! It was the depth sounder, I would’ve bet my life I had turned it off, but obviously I had not!
