Demopolis AL. Tombigbee Waterway

Anyone have any idea what is there. Maybe looking for area to spend winter next year. Openfor any suggestions just don't want to be in salt.

Demopolis didn't strike us as being a place I would want to spend the winter, but we only spent about 3 days there in early November 2016. January and February can be nasty there. The town has everything you need but I don't remember anything that stood out.
Kingfisher Marina was nice, friendly atmosphere. The Management would organize transportation to town for large groups of boaters to go to dinner and they would hold dock meetings to talk about the river and locks going south, but this was for us loopers and for the liners heading south, none of us had cars. We were all high on experiencing the adventure so we loved it all, but IMO there are better places, but everybody's likes differ.
I know you said that you don't want to get into the salt, but that's where I'd go, just my opinion.
Hopefully there might be someone local to comment, but if not, there's my 2 cents from a very brief visit.
