EIM Keypad Prototype Available

Congratulations! I hope you are very successful with this. The potential market for these is about to explode. I am starting to hear about boats in our marina having this issue and in the past have referred them to FP Marine's solution. Yours seems to be a much simpler solution and better value too.

Wow nice job. Your gona be a life saver for a lot of people, including me some day. Thanks

Hi All,
I hope you all can handle this :) This is pyro. I am switching my profile name to better brand my keypads so people can refer to them as DMP keypads which is short for Digital Marine Products. This sounds more professional, than what once was a random anonymous username. You can message me at either username or preferred at dohanchris@gmail.com, but I will transition over to this username for keypad related messages.

I am currently selling for $800 each. I am offering 30 day return excluding shipping so people can see the look and feel in person and ensure it fixes their problems. Therefore even if your issue turns out to be something unrelated, just send the unit back for full refund (excluding shipping) as long as the unit is not damaged or marred up. I will also cover a 1 year warranty for any issues. Units are designed for >IP67 waterproof, the back is fully sealed. It is plug and play, fully compatible with the EIM system. It can be swapped in minutes. I have tested on a number of boats with everything functional. And I almost forgot the most exciting part (to me), is the gorgeous backlighting of all the buttons, icons and text. This was much more expensive to do, and I could have made the keypads cheaper without it, but once you see it, I think you'll agree it's worth it.

Sorry for the lousy nighttime picture.

DWABoat: You can order replacement panels in any color or finish from www.technografic.com directly. They likely have all the patterns on your boat.
Harleyd558: Thank you for the kind words. I don't think Amazon sellers could even buy such a 5 star review!

In general I have been replying to people individually and putting them in order on my list. Although many people go MIA. My biggest challenge is ramping up production. Assembly is time consuming at the moment. Over the next months I will further invest into tooling and be able to support larger quantities. So please bear with me during this growing phase.

Hi Chris this is George. I have an 07 320 Sundancer. It appears my right kidney shape module went out yesterday. I am interested in replacing it with one of yours. The question is can I replace one at a time we’re both need to be done at the same time? Also how do I order. Thank you

Since these keypads are 100% functionally equivalent with the OEM you can mix and match. So you can replace just one side, or replace both, doesn't matter. The appearance is quite different than OEMs, so if you want a matching look you likely want both sides, especially in the gloss black.

For now, contact me directly to order: dohanchris@gmail.com or PM. I may have a small waitlist. Over the winter, I will look into a more automated online store.

Great Job Chris. I need the panels. Once my switches go completely out I will sure be ordering from you. Chip

Pyro, sorry I don't know how to PM. But I want to buy your switches for my 2005 340. Are you ready to sell yet?

I have a 2220 280 sundancer the port side control panel is not working. Do you make a replacement for this.

do you still have these pads? I know you said they are I op, but I’m looking to replace the panel on mine that’s cracked

These include a few additional features from OEM:
- Addition of underwater light button which can be customized/programmed to whatever circuit your underwater lights are connected to
- Addition of hatch enable button to enable to up/down buttons to protect accidental hatch lift
- Working on NMEA 2000 integration so that MFD can control all the same circuits the physical buttons can control

See video link to see unit working.

Pricing still being finalized but targeting $800/each (subject to change). I have a large investment into this product and it's very difficult to get ROI with low quantities.

Pyro,
If you're making the kidney switch pads, I would like to put my order in for the starboard side pad. I agree, if they work well, and are a true plug, and play replacement $800 is a reasonable, and fair price.

Let me know when they will actually be ready. Sorry, but just frustrated right now, as when I use my boat, I have no idea what's going to work at any giving time. Unfortunately the starboard side probably has the most important switches; navigation lights, windlass, horn, vent window, wipers, etc.

I just had the system of new key pads, etc. from Flounder Pounder installed. My mechanic was blown away by the quality of the system and said he will be using FP from now on. It looks great, works great. Spendy, but think about losing your anchor while doing 30 or not being able to open the hatch in an emergency (320 Sundancer). I heard of a boat where the hatch opened automatically while running full bore with his kids sitting the back...money ain't everything!

Are your covers still good?

Hi All,
See below for some pictures of the prototypes, since I don't think I have shared the kidney design yet. The plastic shells are being professionally painted now and then will be assembling the first batch. I am also considering adding an option to match the same red burlwood as the OEM panels. I will post pictures of those samples. I welcome feedback on this.

Hi, while I do monitor this thread, the best way to reach me is to email direct dohanchris@gmail.com.

I still have a lot of delays I am still working through, but I expect to have full supply shortly. Part of that is introducing the burlwood models, which I will share pictures soon.
