Gents , i,m asking seriously from a strategical point of view what could / should have be done better in afghanistan . I already expressed here i do not support current presidental decisions and moves but this was not the point now

Well if you really want to know, you have to understand what the "war" had become. What started as a cause to disable Al Quida and kill Bin Laden, turned into a money making boondoggle. We alegedly trained the Afgan army to fight, but it was our way, reliant on air power. We never gave up that part -- so we could keep the money flowing as they would never "be ready." We abjectly failed to kill the Taliban (but that was never the point, was it), so they just came back like roaches.

Now enter the clueless wonder -- Joe Biden and his entire support staff. They should all resign in disgrace. Their "plan" is a complete failure and weakens the USA beyond their comprehension. Anyone involved should be arrested and court marshalled, impeached, or otherwise delt with.

What should have been done? Actually pretty simple -- Start witht the premise that the Taliban didn't keep it's end of the bargan are are not to be trusted. Then add the premise that the military should be last out. So you start by removing all non-essential personnel from the country. Once that is done, you begin to reduce the military foot print. As you retreat, you make sure you blow all your stuff up so it's not useful to your enemy. You'll actually need to bring in more resources to defend a smaller area so you're not a sitting duck. You consolidate everything at Bagram airbase. Wire the place up. Then, one night, late and dark, you start the extraction. You scramble air power with instructions to light up anything that moves outside the base. The last guy "sets the timer" and as they leave you blow up the base. Hit it again with air power just to make sure. As the last plane leaves, you say on the radio -- Adios motherfkrs. It's not really rocket science. But you need more than children like Biden leading things.

I’ll add, you also have a special forces group in place, so when the Taliban starts acting up, you crush them hard. This was also Trumps strategy.


The minute I heard last Spring, Joe idiot announce a pull out date to the WORLD, 9/11, anyone with half a brain should realize you don’t give timelines to your enemy’s. Especially a date as significant as that.

Maintained Bagram airbase. Provide air cover to Afghanistan army. Evac out of Bagram not Kabul. Maintained a 2 mile radius around Bagram. Sent armored caravans w air cover to get everyone out. Load all our equipment. Then just for kicks left hidden C4 charges all around the airbase and blown them after we left while those sand n… crawled all around the airbase. :D

We got trash coming in across the southern border and we even import Afghan garbage and sprinkle that around the country. The UN report noted that Afghanistan had an underlying cultural norm that sexual and domestic violence were “private family matters” and, as a result, reporting of incidents was rare. The report also concluded that “that the vast majority of murder and ‘honour killings’ of women resulted in impunity for the perpetrator.'
