Dual 5.0 MPI w/Bravo III Drives
Hello, I am a newbie here so I apologize if this topic has already been discussed but I was not able to locate the information. I am looking to install a fresh water flush system to my 2002 300 Sundancer which has 2x5.0 mpi’s with Bravo III drives. From what I have read, these were installed from the factory in years after mine but I do not have one currently. I am looking for the easiest and I am hoping to do it myself. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

It was never a standard thing so you're not missing out on anything :)

There are multiple ways to do this - but do not get the plastic Perko setup - it can cause issues. Simply put a T into the intake hose (make the T section 3/4") that feeds the raw water pump. Add a 3/4" hose and inline shutoff to the "T" and put a garden hose fitting on the other end of the shutoff. Bronze T's and shutoffs are recommended.

You "could" add another inline shutoff on the water side of the T, but it's not as important as one would think. Once the hose is hooked up, there's very little salt water that gets sucked up.

The inline shutoff is a much better solution than a simple cap on the garden hose fitting.

I will add, though you did not ask; If you are new to boating, and this is your first boat, or bigger boat, and you are having anxiety about "salt water" in the engines, I suggest you pause. Your boat is 21 years old. Unless you just installed new engines, new risers/manifolds, I personally am not spending resources on a fresh water flush unless this is a 5+ year boat and I will do it every single time I start the engines. I think you will find doing the flush every single time I start the engines becomes a major pain in the butt and/or you will stop doing it.

Volvo implemented a "Salt Away" system on their engines years ago. When boat shopping I was super impressed, until I noticed ALL of the plastic tanks were empty on every boat I looked at with this on it. That was a clear sign to me it only works if you use it...
