My F150 that I recently traded had BlueCruise. It took a while for Ford to actually activate the system with a software upgrade. I actually had it for about 8 months. No long trips but I did use it on the metro Detroit interstates. It was pretty primative in my opinion. It would stay in the lane but the steering wheel was nervous acting and would stop working on tighter highway curves. My hands were always close to the steering wheel, if not loosely on it. No lane changing.

Now my GMC Sierra Denali has Super Cruise (GM's hands free version. Way more advanced compared to Ford. I can't compare it to Tesla. I have just done a little testing with it but the steering is way more stable. It also changes lanes as needed to pass slower vehicles. No surprise as it will vibrate the seat bottom prior to making a lane change. It will move over on its own once the pass is completed. A much better system that I will be much more comfortable using. A camera makes sure you are paying attention to the road.

And no, it doesn't play "We Will Rock You" when you turn it on ;)

Make sure you have a decent deductible for insurance. I see many people get surprised when they come in for a windshield and I tell them upwards of $2400 depending on the vehicle. In most cases today if it has a camera in the ws it is over $1000 minimum.

I have a Lexus with what they call lane assist …… my problem is it likes to sit near the center line….. too close for me. It’s nice if you let go for a minute to do something but that just means you are distracted….. I not sure of what the benefit is yet

Funny you say that. I was used to Florida. State law down there is no deductible for windshield insurance claims. In Michigan.... Same insurance company same deductible I carried in Florida. Busted a windshield up in Michigan shortly after moving up... $1,000 deductible. Never thought about the different handling of windshield claims. I've now lowered my comp deductible.... o_O

Careful….. I went thru 3 windshields last year in a Lexus. I think they were $1,800….. the insurance company said one more claim we are dropping you….. then of course I hit my brand new car with my boat….. I’m not getting that fixed for a year at least

I guess it could have been worse if the boat was in the water when you collided with it. :)

I was driving the boat and hit the car….. there is no joke you can say that I haven’t heard now

I don't know, I've thought of a few more since the last one I posted last year. But I'll just amuse myself at this point. Although I'm guessing explaining how all that happened to the insurance adjuster wasn't fun.....

One of the most frustrating parts of life in our capitalistic country is dealing with the legalized theft that is called ‘Insurance’. From a purely logical standpoint, having to fight and scheme to get what you originally paid for is insane. These legal thieves, insurance companies, have now managed to make us all afraid to file claims……and that’s of course after we all have paying premiums for a lifetime. Okay, stepping down off the box…..LOL.
