While we have visited a good majority of ports on Lake Michigan we have not visited Harbor Springs by Boat. We have two boats going and 8 days at Walstroms. Will be taking our e-bikes and our dinghy. What do you recommend? what do we stay away from?

That cuts both ways. People watching is better on the city docks. If you are social, back into your slip and chat with people during happy hour. If you bow in there are no people to look in on you. If you are out at the end of the east dock there is little pedestrian traffic as it is a longer walk than most do. Being on the main dock is very interesting. Thanks very much. all good things to know. Interesting observation about Walstroms. A few friends said, at City dock they did not care for people looking in at their boats. That is why we chose Walstroms.
We always call by cellphone a few days before and speak with the harbor master to get the lay of the land. He would tell you what was going on and work with you. Sometimes we would anchor for a night by the swimming area which is well protected and use the shopper dock if we needed supplies. The anchorage has a wonderful view. How was the slip availability at the municipal docks last year? It's been maybe four years since our last visit and we've always enjoyed Harbor Springs. But they are not on the MI reservation system.
We're planning to be in the area in late June.
